Welcome To Cityrune:

A forgotten modern city burnt away from existence due to constant and common warfare. Legend has it that it was once the arena where two rival teams would face off depending only on their skill to survive and their creativity. Before turning into an executioner chamber for many men, Cityrune was once the peaceful city of Enomi.

While looking for a good map players usually judge on four levels: balance, design, gameplay, and weapon placement. Cityrune v.1.1 contains all of that including some few fun twist (such as being able to in-game customize the routes you take in the map by simply blowing stuff up). The map is overall incredibly balance allowing the attacking side to easily infiltrate the brute-like Defending Tower but running into a bigger challenge through the return journey while the defending side has a harder time entering the defending campsite and an easier time returning.

There are a total of three main sections in the map:

The Attacking Attacking Campsite

Also known as Northern Enomi, or as civilians would call it "the poor side" the attacking base isn't much to look at. The only defense system it really puts up is a wall/hallway like feature. Although the defense is quite poor the only possible entrances is a small door (just big enough for a warthog), a jump from the Sniping Hallway (<you'll learn about that later :D) and a fallen A sign that's slanted just right. There's also a small armory providing Sniper Rifles for anyone who's a shot ace and a shotgun behind the shield walls protecting the in-Foundry hallway. The man-canning which is just above the walls can be accessed by a two ways from the attacking teams base. One way would be jumping onto a fence wall next to the in-Foundry stairs and the other would be following a bridge onto a crashed semi-truck onto the wall and then jumping onto the cannon.

The Defending Tower

Ahh, Souther Enomi, the more classy side of town fully equipped with 2 turret towers, a pit of defensiveness (or grenade whoring), a garage, and an accessible sniper hallway.
There's only about 4 ways to being granted access into the defensive tower: the dumpster in front of it, man-cannoning,
going through the garage (you have to blow up the barrels first or drive your warthog through it, first XD)

Or using the dead end/teleport hallway.
Dead End

Teleport!

As you can see the Defensive Side has a pretty nice set of toys.

Oh and did I forget to mention the SNIPING HALLWAY
Angle A
Angle B
Only accessible through your local Defending Tower

The Chaos in the Middle

Yikes you don't want to make it a habit to found in the middle of this map especially when it's an easy sniping target and fusion coils raining down on your path. However, rockets and camo make it seem worth the trip. After defacing the kind values of Enomi into Cityrune the "Guardians" decided it would be more fun to have the teams struggle in the middle.

Well that's a pretty quick overview of some of the things Cityrune v1.1 has to offer. However, there's a cool special unique quality about this map. Basically while playing in this map, the main strategy is always to pick your paths where you'll have an advantage against your opponents, however, you can in-game alter some of the routes (for example: The chaos in the middle of the map is in constant change due to the explosions which moves crates, a vehicle, and even planted weapons). One of the cooler strategies that we found was being able to blow up the wire spools with rockets or brute shot to cut off the turret towers and the entrance to the sniper hall.

There's also a few hidden weapons that might take you awhile to look for. Don't worry it'll turn up sooner or later :D
