Subject: Halo in Third Person

Guys. Halo is a FIRST-Person Shooter. I understand that you guys enjoy these kinds of mods, but if you want third person shooter, scarabs firing 10,000 rockets at once, and a hgo that flies in the air, go play ChromeHounds or Lost Planet. You should play Halo as it is.

Amen to that! People nowadays (and way back when) seem to lose sight of the fact that Halo is a first person not so that we're frustrated by the smaller field of vision, but because it adds to and improves on the gameplay overall.

That's because the Halo modding community is mostly filled with 16 year olds who wouldn't know a useful mod if it came up and bit them in the fellers. Also, the easy to use modding programs for the game contributes to the quality of the mods.

All the other moddable FPS games out there like SOF get new weapons, new enemies, new vehicles, and new missions. We get hogs that shoot tanks that shoot spartans that shoot nukes. Or banshees that fly backwards that launch exploding grunts.

Finally, something we agree on.

Thats the biggest load of crud I've ever heard. Playing the game by itself can get boring, so use mods to spice things up and expand the gaming experience. You'll never be a true gamer if you play games as they are. Go beyond the limits of gameplay and play the game in a whole different perspective. You'll be glad that you did.

LMFAO! You seriously sound like one of those obsessed-modders TUI Obi Wan was talking about. I don't understand how a nuke launcher that fires 400 nukes per second all over a modded Blood Gulch that also contains sniper rifles that shoots out 80mm tank shells and H2 SMG's that fire 10,000 rockets in one burst, makes the game any better, or fun. And trust me, a "true gamer" doesn't really "mod" games, they play it competetively, or for fun, but either way, they play it the way it should be.

And btw, if you really want to mod and make Halo totally into a bootlegged version of ChromeHounds, do it on Custom Edition, don't ruin Halo1PC with pathetic nukes with suicide frogs strapped to it.

Wow, lpjuunin, has it ever occurred to you that maybe not all mods involve flying warthogs? He wasn't talking about stupid amateur mods like the ones you mentioned, have you ever bothered to check CMT out? Some mods actually try to add balance to the game, or add in new gameplay or add features that are new, unique, and professionally designed. This doesn't just apply to Halo either. Dude, I'm sorry if you didn't notice, but Counter-Strike was originally a mod. And guess what? There are almost 100,000 people playing CS at any moment; they play it competitively, and for fun. I guess they aren't "true gamers", then, because they're playing a mod?

Nice try, though.

I don't mod. But I do support it. I'll only mod when I learn how to, so that I won't be an "clueless mod" or whatever the hell you call it.
