Heyyo,

I've just been wondering. Will it ever have true Xbox 360 controller support? Because I noticed that games that were not specifically made for the 360 controller, act a little weird.
All 360 controllers have a bit of a thumb-stick calibration issue. Like, when you move the left thumbstick to the right, you go right (as it should be), and when you release it, you stop. But when you move to the left, and then let go. You keep on moving to the left. That's because when you do that, it's not exactly off-set to the middle. Just slightly to the left.
Many games that have full 360 controller support by-pass this problem and allow you to play like normal.
So the question is: Do you ever think it'd be possible, perhaps via a patch, to give HPC full 360 controller support? Because moving to the left when you're not doing anything is not fun >:[
And no, I said full 360 controller support. HPC can detect the 360 controller, but it's just detected as another Gaming Controller :\
Blah.
Nope, there probably won't be unless Microsoft says "hey, update HPC to support force feedback" which's highly unlikely. Anywho, for the calibration probs you need xbox custom drivers for the 360 controller. ;)
Here's how to do it...
get this first installer... and run it...
http://redcl0ud.com/files/XBCDv107.exe
then go to this thread and download and run the drivers corresponding to your version of windows:
http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1511
then go to this site and get "2.Default Xbox 360 Config File with L and R triggers on seperate axises"... (do NOT use their installer for the xbcd360, those drivers are out of date and bugged)
http://xbcd360guide.50webs.com/download.html
then plug in the controller... you may need to disable driver signature (since they ain't official drivers), or manually install them from the list..
then run the xbcd program that lets you setup the gamepad and load in the "xboxtriggersseperate.xgi" file I got you to get on that last site, and apply, and close. Then go into Control Pannel > Gamepads > *select xbox360 gamepad* > properties > Calibrate... and then well, calibrate it. =D
if the gamepad sitll doesn't give you full range on diagonals you may need to go back into that xbcd setup program and hit the checkmarks for "full range"
Then give it a shot in a game! Simple right? :)
Using these drivers will let you setup your triggers as separate axis (which I highly reccomend) or buttons for games that don't support axis. This also gives you force feedback! w00t! so now for games that have force feedback in them, it'll work... no more shaking your hands to emulate the effects. =P
Also, the full range thing is highly reccomended too, since that will give you 100% axis movement on your diagonals, cause if you check the norm style, the axis at diagonals do maybe 80% range.
