Firstly, Vista isn't being released just to play Halo 2, so if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Secondly, they're cheap, crap versions of the real things and miss many vital details and gameplay elements. It'll be better to call it Halo 1.5 maps.

Thirdly, if you're getting Vista JUST to play Halo 2, then damn you need a life.

lol. you know there are alot of people who are buying Vista for Halo 2. Personally I got my copy for all the new games coming out and compatibility.

you are right though when you say its sad that people would buy a new Operating System for just 1 game.

What it is.

i bought vista just for the fact that it's the next OS and i wouldve had to down the road...H2V is just an added bonus..

You're absolutely right.

But if you're buying Vista for other, better games, well, I've got these two words for you.

Bioshock and Crysis.

ZOMG! If I see one more thread complaining about H2 being on Vista, I will go on an insane IP-tracking-and-murdering rampage! Instead of making another thread to complain about it, go to an existing one and see how your complaints are not valid.

Windows vista pwns. I didn't get it yet, but one of my friends got it, and it rocks. I still think it's easier to H4X0R3 on XP though...

I am upgrading and buying h2v just for the editing kit, along with most of CMT.

1: You don't need a new comp to run Vista. Anything made within the last year will suffice.
2: People who buy Windows Vista just for Halo 2 will account for 0.001 percent of total vista sales. You had to go buy an Xbox to play Halo 2 up until now. Why didn't anyone complain about having to buy a $250 console?
3: It's Halo 2. Not Halo CE with Halo 2 maps.

Go cry somewhere else.

By this logic, could we not say that Halo1 was 'crap' because you couldn't play it on your DOS pc and had to purchase a winxx pc to use it?

If you think you have it bad, check these prices:

Vista Home Basic:
U.S: $199
U.K: £179.99 = $353

Actually, HPC (and assuming the same with H2V) didn't have a "map editor all-in-one" program. It was composed of various programs, and other things that I'm too lazy to mention right now.

...which is how Halo 2 PC will be. Same tools as Halo PC basically, but slightly improved.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

Has it been confirmed that the H2EK will be the same as the HEK in funcionality? As apposed to an all in one solution?

AMD Phenom 9500 (2.2GHz) Quad-Core
4 GB PC2 6400 Ram
(Temp) XFX GeForce 8400GS (512MB)
32" LCD HDTV running at 1366x768
HITACHI 160GB & Western Digital 500GB SATA II HDD

Personally I would never buy anything that just came out becuase there are always problems. Like with the XBOX 360: Liquid cooling leaking, the optical lense for the dvd rom drive getting too close to the disc and scratching it, and none of that was covered under the warranty. Normally I would wait a year or 2 before i go out and buy it. and anyway I think vista is a total ripoff of the mac OSX.

You know, there were many people who bought an Xbox JUST to play Halo 2. Myself included. Why? Because the fun I had afterwards with my friends was worth it. It was a nice investment. It might have seemed like a lot of money at the time, but averaging it out per month since I've had it and it's not bad at all.

Vista will be a similar circumstance. I will also do the same for Halo 3. If you think it's sad, or stupid, then I'd have to assume the value of your time and your friends is bad as well.

Vista will be much friendlier in the long run than getting an xbox/360, seeing how it's much more of a multipurpose object than a console.
