Something interesting I just picked up on during these last few precious hours playing the single player mode on Halo 1. There is a comment from cortana as they are entering the rings atmosphere just after the covenant attack. She says and I quote " If I still had fingers, they would be crossed!" Is this a notion that she use to be human like us before becoming a A.I. Construct. Tell me if Im wrong and just reading to much into it, but Id like to hear an explanation of how, when and why, this happened to cortana in the first place. Seems like Im smelling a prolog for another book in the halo series. Everyone let me know what you think about the whole thing.

Either she is refering to the marines, if they had fingers, or she was refering to her similar counterpart Dr. Halsey which is probably in Halo 2, as said in the books...

Hmm, maybe shes referring to when she was actually displayed, as in the hologram on the bridge? She technically had fingers then.

Cortana is a direct copy of Dr. Hasley I believe.

Actually, it was a mix of Dr. Halsey and other great minds.

Opinions are like arseholes - everybody has one.

Knowledge is knowing Tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

There is no such thing as a bad decision, only good decisions based on flawed information.

Cortana was created from a cloned version of Dr. Halsey's brain. Therefore she shares some of her thoughts and feelings (like the Master Chief being her favourite Spartan). The "fingers" she is referring to are probably the ones she had when she in the Pillar Of Autumns Holotank.
