I know the Flood is an off-topic forum and all but it's too chaotic and filled with spam flooded nonsense that something needs to be done.
When ever I enter that forum there are posts to very thought out threads saying nothing but rubbish like "your mom" or "kills kitten" and all the other members encourage them and continue to laugh along with them afraid that they may feel "left out". Also when new members join they tell them to go away or "go back to the Halo 3 Forum". It's just stupid.

Are the mods aware of this? If not I think they should decree a temporary blacklist for totally off-topic posts such as *eats pie* or the retarded "in b4 teh lock"

Well, the little "groups" formed are just there because the more active members are...well, more recognized.

There's not really anything wrong with that, per se. I mean, sometimes there will be the occasional post that clearly draws lines between the more the "popular" members and the less "popular" members.

But that's why it's The Flood.

Now about the whole "Go back to Halo 3 Forum" bit, that's just dumb, I'll agree on that. There's honestly no reason to flat out alienate new members. Heck, it happened to me when I first started posting in there, was indeed told to "go back to the Halo forum."

But I'm not an adolescent, angsty teen, so I just shrugged it off and kept posting. Eventually it pans out.

Now about the "in b4 teh lock" bit, that has to go. Seriously. All it does is promote people to be "funny" (even though it's not funny) and just results in threads being bumped up to the top thanks to that ridiculousness. If anything, that deserves a warning at least.

Yeah I think there needs to a widespread banning of idiots who can post well, but decide to just post one-liner -blam!- instead.

Ok but if we're talking about the Moon landing why does a more "elite" member allowed to say "draws pie on flag and hides" with nobody telling them they're idiots? It's idiotic and it needs to be taken care of.

Because this site is dominated by 15 year old males who find that kind of stuff funny.

I guess......

Exactly. They know that they can stay on subject and probably post an eye opening legit post and be commended on it but they decide to post "no u" after every quote.

So then the mods need to take action. I understand that the Flood is sort of meant for that kind of stuff, but I thought it was for off-topic discussion. People aren't able to discuss things when other people post crap that brings the threads off-topic.

I'm not talking about getting rid of all those types of things completely, I'm just saying that some of the people who do it a ridiculous amount of times should have some sort of punishment.

Well, I would have to say, even if it's a semi-serious topic in the flood, people still feel that it's their duty, being in an off-topic forum, to be off-topic in all the threads as well..

Besides that, there's just some strange threads in there.

...

"Do you have a Man Crush?"

Goodness, Impurity.. You give me more and more reasons to hide from that forum. >_>

The dumb one liners can get on your nerves, but I think the flood is a fun place. Sure it has its problems, but I still like it.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I feel that the main problem with The Flood is that people respond to trolls and spam instead of telling a mod.

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The Flood will always be filled with idiots. Just laugh at these guys for being so dumb and move on. If they truly offend you then contact a mod...

Naturally, the Flood is mentally ill. I'm not sure if the mods could just ban all those guys. If they locked every thread where someone responded like that, you'd have a whole lot of locked threads. I suppose they can always edit... but either way it will always be like this.

Couldn't someone just use the search features and type in common evasions like g4y and g@y, then easily spot where people are doing things like that?

Probably but I don't think it would be a good practice. Sometimes you'd miss the context and that could turn around to bite you in the ass.

Well, Impuri7y, then you just go to the thread and see what context they were using it in.. It's not like the moderators are mindless robots. Mindless, maybe, but robots?

They're not that cool.

I think I wrote this while I was drunk but it applies to this thread, too.

Figures...

You have confused the appreciation for not being serious every moment of your life with somebody not being able to be serious at all.

So it's ok for somebody to not be serious at all just as long as you know they can be serious? That makes no sense.

A majority of the posters you are complaining about are around fifteen years old but there are others (me included) that appreciate the light hearted attitude in that forum. There is no way in hell the moderators could regulate those kinds of posts without turning the Flood into a ghost town. I don't come to this site to read regurgitated ideas backed by text book grammar. That may seem sad but it's not. These are forums on a gaming site. As long as members are being respectful to each other, why should they have to conform to exhasperated tendencies of egotistical nerds? They don't really care about in depth discussion and that's why they post in the Flood.
So what you're saying is that people who are actually intelligent and posts showing that intellect is an egotistical nerd? How mature of you. And to think you were actually a moderator for this site.

And what you're also saying is that these posters are around 15 so it's common for them to make posts like that. How ignorant is that? Because of their age they can just get away with a little slap on the wrists?

Speaking of which, I don't recall reading too many contributions by yourself, Killa.
Maybe because I don't come to this site everyday and all day of my life.

In fact, since you seem to be so knowledgeable in the workings of the Flood, I decided to do a search to see how you're helping. What's this?! I swear I can see the same idiotic one liners. In fact, I even see some dodging of the profanity filter. Now I'm wondering if this account you're using is a duplicate.
Really? Because I don't see anything wrong exept sarcasm to shut some kids up.

Let's look at your thread for a second. HERE

Let me quote you again just for a second so I can get my point across.

Ok so people who bypas the profanity user should be banned for being suspected as an alt account. Well why isn't this user banned? He has had accounts banned from this website already. (JAVA24, HAWT24) But he is still lurking this website talking about things like....

Posted by: JAVA2
Every guy is allowed to have ONE mancrush without being considered ghey.

Profanity filter bypass.

Oh and look at his signature...
Posted by: shiv master
(_._) - Regular ass
(_o_) - JAVA's ass

Is this what you want (As you said) 15 year olds to see on a video game forum?

Why don't you report him? Because he makes you laugh? Awww how cute.

Killa... lighten up.

It does make sense... If you see a respectable member go in any given topic and say "no u" it would be okay because you naturally know they are just kidding. If you see some new guy come in every thread and start saying "no u" to everyone, you know he's spamming.

Every guy is allowed to have ONE mancrush without being considered ghey.
Profanity filter bypass.

I'm pretty sure you can bypass the word g@y without it being an insult, much like a lot of other blammed words on the site.

Do I smell Elitism? Do I smell Elitism?
I smell it and it's disgusting!

So if a new member comes in and says "no u" it's immediately wrong because he isn't as "old" as the members who spam... I mean say it.
