Naturally, the Flood is mentally ill. I'm not sure if the mods could just ban all those guys. If they locked every thread where someone responded like that, you'd have a whole lot of locked threads. I suppose they can always edit... but either way it will always be like this.

Where do you want your so-called idiots to go? disperse into the rest of the forums so you can whine how they're ruining your thread? Then what's the excuse, oh yeah, you didn't want them to have an off-topic area. If you dislike it just stay away.

The Flood will always be filled with idiots. Just laugh at these guys for being so dumb and move on. If they truly offend you then contact a mod...

Yes, of course, we're all just babbling idiots. Not one bit of intelligence in the Flood forum at all. Nope, I mean those people can't even speak english or type on a computer.

Stereotyping bastard.

Hey, uh, you know I havent said anything about people's sigs right? This thread is about off topic POSTING, not signatures. I dont really care about what is in your signature as long as it isnt WAY to much, just keep it in the rules. Posting random stuff and derailing threads however, is something that should stop. Please stay on topic, which so you know, is bad POSTING

Precisely my point.
You want people to post only if they have something relevant to say in relation to the topic.
The problem is that 'relevance' is subjective, which is why we have the 'problem' we have. Since you seem to be the self-appointed emissary of relevance, the crusader against clogged forums, the floods very own proverbial toilet plunger, let me as you a question.
Where do we draw the line?
If someone posting *hugs* at the end of a post, regardless of the length, annoys you to the point that you feel you have to rant about it; give us apparently unenlightened members some guidelines by which to post.
What is 'ok' and what is not?

Actually, the things ive talked about are things that annoy people, bring topics off topic and clog the forums. Go read the first page where I said that things dont really offend me, then come back realizing you made an assumption and were wrong

This marks the second time you've responded while managing to ignore all the relevant parts of my posts (namely the ones referring to your hypocrisy). Are you having trouble following, hun, or do you simply not have a valid retort?

Hey buddy, hipocracy requires you to make a statement condoning an action that you are guilty of. I am showing you that I havent made any such statement. Please LEARN SOMETHING

That isn't even remotely the definition of 'hypocrisy'.
Consider that fact, along with your spelling, while you tell me to "learn something".

Once agian, literacy is failing. Go read back a page or 2 ago where I said that posts with intelligent thought are fine, but posting random nonsense just to get your name in a thread and start an off topic conversation isnt. Please read the thread before posting about me. Seeing you make mistake after mistake concerning my statements is getting tiresome

I'm still in awe of someone who can misspell hypocrisy so badly (hipocracy), and still have the audacity to be so condescending when she's made it clear post after post that she has nothing relevant to say. Talk to me some more about literacy, please.
You said you were against the forums being clogged by off-topic or irrelevant posts. In my post last quoted by you, I simply asked you how we were to determine what was considered off topic.
Did you follow that time?

It's the Flood. What did you expect. The in before the lock is stupid. But some stuff is just their signature outside their signature. We're one big family in there. No big on some stuff.

Well, MissBanana, these things have been going on for (from what I know) years. Sometimes new members just like to spam things up, and yes, that's annoying. Some of the older members of the flood like doing stuff like that in REALLY stupid threads. And no, I'm not okay with that.

Now, "hugs," "krys," ect. is ok. If you have a problem with someone typing in an action, well too bad. Go to a different forum or a different Halo website if you don't like it. No one is making you stay here.

It is common sense... me posting about pancakes and AIDs in this thread would be off topic. It is based on the judgement of the moderators, as are all rules on this site. The fact is that it is their job to make judgement calls, and while I wouldnt not have them worry about items in teh gray area, things that are clearly off topic should be delt with.

You keep saying that I am not adressing your points, but i think the issue is that you are misunderstanding my statements.

Ahh...now we're getting somewhere finally.
Couldn't it be said that the mods are already doing exactly that which you've described to the best of their abilities? You said it's their call to make, but here you, and the others here, are complaining about clogged or off topic forums.

Oh, and hypocrisy is not condoning an act that you are guilty of like you said. That only makes you honest. If you condone something, that means you are 'ok' with it.
Hypocrisy is when you speak out against something that you are guilty of. When you say one thing and do another. (e.g. Saying "Having sex outside of marriage is wrong!" if you are not married and you DO have sex.)

Cortana, i dont have an issue with people typing in actions, I have a problem with them typing in actions just to get spam going. Typing 2 words than *hugs* is pretty pointless and a waste of space. If you are just going to do that, why not put it in your sig and only make real posts. It seems more like a way to start chat than anything of real significance.

Well, sometimes just two words will get one's point though. This also envolves a lot with new/old members. You made it seem that you just hated the actions all together. Now, posts with only actions, are also okay. I've seen ones like that, and are ok.

Same basic meaning with slightly different wording. Now care to show me one example of this?

Did I say ban everyone who says *hugs*? No i didnt. I said ban people who attention whore, as in make pointless posts to get their friends to reply and start off topic conversation

Forgive my lateness in responding to this, but please, Bananna, do tell me how simply saying *hugs* promotes and/or produces spam.

I've been in TONS of various forums for many years now and something like "*hugs*" is nothing to cause a heart attack... believe it or not, it's only a statement not a death rattle. Do people truly see that and think "oh shoot, that's my cue!" and jump in and spam?

I just don't understand your logic here... from reading your posts the only thing that came to mind was "why the hell is this such a huge deal to her?" This may seem far-fetched, but it's sort of like saying a person's voice annoys you so you want them to shut up.

A person typing actions should not cause so much drama. If you don't like it, here's a tip: It's usually on the end of posts, right? So SKIP IT. View over it. Easy enough, is it not?

No, I am asking for them to actually search for this type of thing, enforce the rule, but to do it at their own judgement of what breaks the rules. Presantly it would seem as though they dont enforce it all, I am asking them to fix the infractions instead of ignoring them.

Tell me you aren't being serious.
How is it remotely the same thing?

Oh and I don't think it takes any stretch of the imagination to see how someone with such a provocative sig, yet who is crusading for more strictly enforced rules in a forum clearly labeled for off topic discussion, could be labeled as slightly hypocritical.
Not to point fingers.

This is ridiculous. From where I'm sitting, you're all arguing for the sake of arguing, which is what I see as the ultimate in off-topic posting.
