Bungie.net is my favorite website, and it has my favorite forums and private groups anywhere. I understand why there is no colored text or pictures. I also don't want Bungie to be filled with inappropriate content.

However, every other forum I have ever visited has a spellcheck. Is there a specific reason why there is no spellcheck? Is it possible that Bungie will have one in the future?

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Maybe but you can always get Firefox. I think it has a built in spell checker.

I am...whimsical today.

As does IE7. You can also get ones off the net, like in my sig :)

I agree that more could be done on the Forums to direct people to these, but if they don't want to use them, then they won't.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

Learn to type or get Firefox -_-

I think it would help the spelling around here. A lot of members will check spelling if it is convenient. Only a small percentage of B.net members post in the Septagon, and a lot of members won't think to use Firefox or Word to spellcheck. It is a feature that would only help.

Firefox or not, it's ridiculous that there isn't an optional spell checker.

Why again is it ridiculous that the quality of a post falls on the shoulders of the user posting it, again?

Type in word, spellcheck, select all copy, paste.

I am here to solve your problem Nate.

TinySpell is your friendly and local spelling checker. It only takes up approximately 1MB of Hard Disk space. It is extremely handy. Just install it and then run it. You should see a small little square in your icon panel in the bottom right of the screen. The icon that has a TS and a check in it is the one you're looking for. Once you see the Tiny-Spell icon, you're ready. If you make a mistake the icon will turn yellow, you can click on it and get alternate spellings. If you click on an alternate spelling, Tiny-Spell will automatically insert the correct word into whatever window your typing in.

Only if they had Tiny-Grammar :P

The people who need it most wouldn't use it. There's plenty of other spell checkers out there, and if the people with bad spelling wanted to improve it, they'd use one of those.

A spell checker is on the list of things to add, yes. Eventually. Might be a while, there a bunch of other things I have to do before I can get to it.

Please, do not let anything fall behind a spell checker in priority. Since one, there are is an abundance available online, and two bad spelling is occasionally funny, and three I have run out of reasons but those of you who skim over this post will think I haven't.

I'll be on my own side.

I don't really think it's necessary. If spelling words right in a language you've likely been using since you learned to speak is too hard for you, then that's your problem.

Besides, poor spelling is hilarious at times. Dumd?

Spellchecker 'eventually'? That would solve a lot of my problems..

...

No, really though, I would suggest everyone get FireFox 2.0

For example, it's currently underlining "FireFox" as an invalid word. Oh, and Spellchecker. Sweet.

... Firefox 2.0 ..

It's likely then that I would've inquired as to whether you were suggesting that either spellcheck support needs to be made specifically for people with carpal tunnel, or whether you were implying that the majority of poorly written posts out there are the result of carpal tunnel?

Well, when you rephrase it, I definitely look stupid. But if you'd just said, "more info please" I would've replied with something like, "because it's extra clicks," and maybe thrown in some stats about carpel tunnel syndrome.

Me am <3 FF.

None of which is misspelled. Firefox needs a grammar checker.
Oh, and Zag? Right click the underlined word and click Add to Dictionary. Just like M$ Word.

In other words, stay around on Bungie.net for another 2 years then you will see it.

Have you seen the newest version of Firefox? It has just gotten a spell checker.

I'm using the latest version. FaT and EliTe are both underlined with little red dots. Nothing else in this post is, including the text markup tags.

I know, I know.

I was just pointing out that it .. Nevermind. <--Adds to Dictionary

It just has some weird words underlined that I would assume it would've accepted..

Never mind is two words. And no spellchecker *adds* dictionary is ever complete. I'm an Australian, and many words I, and most others, use, are 'misspelled'. Like colour. Which I added within the first 5 minutes of using FF2.0.
