When I got halo PC and put it on my computer, it worked fine, then I changed the resolution from 800x600 to my maximum (1280x760 or whatever), then whenever I type a message online, it shows the little shadow of the chat prompt, but it doesn't say "all:" and it doesn't show what I'm typing. It should work. What am I doing wrong or how do I fix it?

Try reinstalling the program.

In your Halo directory there is a file called Msxmlenu. Run that program and choose 'repair' and it should fix your chat.

maybe the resolution is off for your computer, like my computer, the second to highest cuts of my textbox, you just have to find the right resolution.

But it'll look bad if I set it lower, and my gfx card sux, so halo will look really bad! It only looks okay because of the high resolution.

Well I used a halo font editor to reposition the edit box, and it looks like it was too low on the screen so I couldn't see it... WTF...

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

The resolution is fine, try changing the refresh rates from within Halo video options.

if your graphics card "sucks" then it should look BETTER with a lower resolution, since a higher resolution takes more graphics power. i just think you meant to say it looks a bit clearer when it has a higher res. I think it would be more beneficial to turn the res a bit lower.

Dude, 640x480 and 800x600 has barely any differences. They pretty much look the same, hell, even 1024x768 doesn't look all that better.

And besides, if your card sucks, there's no point in turning up the resolution, because your FPS will go haywire. You'll be lucky if you get anything above 10 FPS in heavy firefights.
