Some of us don't care about competitively-based gaming, Faux_x. I mean, I sure do, but that doesn't give you the right to disrespect those who just want to have fun.

Who was disrespecting who? I sure as hell wasn't stopping them from pubbing, but they were trying to stop me from simply finding a scrim.

It's a shame Klanwars is so bad.

It's like a mating ritual to get anything going, and even then the admins do nothing to keep it fair when the rules are broken.

AND WHY THE HELL DOES THIS FORUM BLOCK OUT THE WORD SCRIM WITH AN ING!

@ BTC - Klanwars isn't competitive gameplay, it's a bunch of 10 year old kids with aimbots that have nothing better to do after school. I play with people I've known in CAL that I'm confident know how to play and don't cheat. That's the closest to competitive play Halo PC will ever be.

Well, I didn't find "Halo's dead because of people like you" as a sign of reverence, if I can say that.

Kick, ban, whatever. Removal from the server was my point, and you implied it well enough.

Kick and ban are two different things. We did not do either.

Having more than 4 people in a server playing is nowhere near the same thing as sc-blam!-. You had like 4 MAW guys, 3 HMC guys and 1 TUI guy all mixed up on each other's teams, don't try to say you were sc-blam!-.

It was a scrim man. Dont give me that bull-blam!-. Proof? Here and here. I cant find the one on TUI's forums.

I was repeatedly asking for people to scrim, because half of the guys in the server weren't responding. To those of you that did, I understood it the first time, and my questions following that were not directed as you, so I don't know why you were even responding. If you were there to pub, then do so instead of typing back to me when I'm not even talking to you

Number 1) Wouldn't it stand to reason that if nobody replied, that nobody was interested?
Number 2) You were in the HMC server asking non-HMC members to scrim. Xfire or posting in their forums would be a MUCH more appropriate place to do so, not the server. You were wasting everyones time, and were getting annoying.

new420 said he WOULD play when I asked, so obviously not everyone in the server was against sc-blam!-.

Perhaps you are interpreting his words incorrectly, perhaps not. I dont recall this part of the game. My guess is new420 implied that MAW would scrim you at a later time. Our scrim was only about an hour and a half long. Once again, I redirect you to forums, a more appropriate way to organize a scrim.

One of your HMC guys was willing to 5v5 and then two others shoot him down and say "no, we refuse to scrim."

Once again I state please include more information. We will do scrims, but not competitively.

Since you guys seem to lack communication between each other, I was asking people individually. I has to ask a couple MAW guys in particular repeatedly because I kept asking and didn't get a response.

Forums are more appropriate for organizing scrims. I say once again, if nobody replies, they obviously arent interested.

If you guys enjoy pubbing all day, by all means go ahead, but real members of the Halo community would actually contribute to keeping the game competitive, IMO. Or at least that's how the game was in it's prime, but I guess I need to stop living the glory days of the past in my mind. That was the whole reason for draft pugs, to get some fun, competitive competition going. Otherwise I'd go find a DC Assault pub and spend hours in there. Anyone that played on Friday night will tell you there's a big difference, but you guys have little to no experience in the said field.

You go ahead and keep Halo comptetitive. But remember, gaming isnt all about being competitive, its about having fun and enjoying the community. Thats why HMC was started in the first place on halomaps.co.uk.

Is it so much to ask to at least keep an open mind and try once in a while?

Try what? Clanwars? CAL? I direct you to below.

Have you guys ever actually played a 5v5 CAL Assault scrim before?

HMC does not do competitive gaming. We are a community clan.

Incorrect, Faux. May I ask you again, have I ever said the word ban? Or even kick? This is your overtly active imagination and your paranoid temperament making you believe that you were threatened with a ban. Once more, go ask any person aboard the game if I threatened you with even a kick. I don't believe even a single person has backed your claim that I threatened you with a kick, and nearly all of them have responded in this thread.

Again, to make it absolutely clear: you came into HMC/MAW/TUI's semi-formal scrim, asked to--no, you flat-out spammed the game with repeated requests to scrim. Again, like I said on the game, if one of our guys says he's interested, then you take it up with him personally. The website is listed on the server itself for you to get into contact with him. This gives you no right to continuously spam the game--our game--itself with your advertisements. Again, as a seasoned pro of organized matches, you should know how much unwanted communications disrupt your game. You were disrupting our scrim by spamming the text chat with unwanted messages. If you want to advertise your scrim, go do so on the forums, the way you are supposed to.

Second, it's our game, not yours. You were absolutely in the wrong for joining our game and advertising for your game.

Third, the Big Three, HMC TUI and MAW, exsist so well together mostly because they don't involve themselves heavily in KWs and organized matches that you so greatly believe in. We don't need a full server to have a good time, that's not how HMC rolls.

Kick back with a cold one and get back to me. You're beginning to contradict yourself, and digging the hole some more isn't going to help your situation much.

Kick and ban are two different things. We did not do either.

I said implied. Threatened, for lack of a better word. I gave up soon enough and 2v2'ed with the few people we could find.

It was a scrim man. Dont give me that bull-blam!-. Proof? Here and here. I cant find the one on TUI's forums.

Just because you call it a scrim doesn't mean it's a scrim. You had a bunch of people from all three teams scattered about on red and blue. That is NOT a scrim. It was organized beforehand, perhaps, but it was nothing close to a scrim. It was a pug at most, and an unorganized one at that, because you had random people joining in and the server was unlocked.

Not to mention, it was on Damnation, snipers, no shields. If that's your idea of a scrim, then I'm going to do my best to hold myself back from bursting out laughing.

INumber 1) Wouldn't it stand to reason that if nobody replied, that nobody was interested?

I was asking specific people and they weren't responding, which implied 1) they were illiterate, 2) they were retarded, or 3) they weren't paying attention to the chat. I'm going to assume it was the third one.

Number 2) You were in the HMC server asking non-HMC members to scrim. Xfire or posting in their forums would be a MUCH more appropriate place to do so, not the server. You were wasting everyones time, and were getting annoying.

I was wasting your time perhaps, but I wasn't talking to you after I asked you the first time, so you were wasting your own time by responding to me. I'm not going to post on someone's forums to scrim later when I have five people who want to play now, especially for a scrim. You've clearly never played any game competitively in any league, or you wouldn't be so dense. Ever heard of #halo.invite, #sourcescrim or #cod2scrim? You go into a channel to find scrims whenever you're ready to scrim. Since nobody in #halo.invite plays halo anymore, I have to resort to going into servers with people as unexperienced as yourself and hope to god that they don't act the way you are right now.

I obviously didn't considering we played a 2v2 scrim right after I left your server. And like I said, I'm not going to post on someone's forums to set up a scrim. Not like you know what a scrim even is, from the way you've been sc-blam!-, but I won't get into that again.

Once again I state please include more information. We will do scrims, but not competitively.

Scrims are competitive. If you aren't sc-blam!- competitively, you aren't sc-blam!-. I won't get into that again.

Forums are more appropriate for organizing scrims. I say once again, if nobody replies, they obviously arent interested.

Or they aren't reading the chat. Like I said, forums are a terrible place to get scrims going. Deny that and you're simply showing your lack of knowledge in the competitive gaming world, but seeing as how you claim to be a non-competitive team (whatever that is), you clearly don't know the meaning of "scrim".

IYou go ahead and keep Halo comptetitive. But remember, gaming isnt all about being competitive, its about having fun and enjoying the community. Thats why HMC was started in the first place on halomaps.co.uk.

Why the hell do you think this game is so dead? Hundreds of teams played the game when CAL hosted it, which 10x as many servers up as there are now. The amount of competitive competition going on defines how much of a community the game has. CS:S is hosted by CAL, CPL, WSVG, CEGL, and dozens of smaller leagues, with hundreds of LANs going on all around the west and east coasts. The community is defined by the competitive play that goes on, and vice versa.

Try what? Clanwars? CAL? I direct you to below.

...no, try playing a competitive 5v5 scrim sometime. The more your scrim, the better you get, and I can guarantee you it's more fun than pubbing. You've everything so figured out that you refuse to keep an open mind, which is the most frustrating part about this whole thing.

HMC does not do competitive gaming. We are a community clan.

Pubbing and sc-blam!- are so ridiculously different - imagine something like soccer or baseball. Do people "pub" that? Do you see groups of people kicking around soccer balls on a field and joining in / leaving whenever they please?

I don't know why I try so hard to keep this damned game alive when the majority of the people left are people like you running your mouth like you know what's what.

For the record, KW is the epitome of bad. Competitive scrims and KW matches are NOTHING alike.

Done correctly, competitive gaming plays more fun than pubbing does. Do not let klanwars ruin what you think competitive gaming stands for.

Imagine playing purely for fun, but winning at the same exact time. It is a rush that you cannot get from pubbing or from klanwars since KW is full of pure bs and a poor portrayal of what competition really exists for. Sc-blam!- isnt about winning points, it is infact far from it, infact with pugs, teams last for only one map so it doesn't matter at the end of the day who won since you most likely have played with everyone on different teams.

Again, stop mixing up KW with competitive gaming, while leagues such as CAL you do play to win, it isnt about cheating and hacking the game to win, if you win you know you did so without an unfair advantage, just you and your teammates skill, hell, I never even played CAL but its not being KW justifies what I just said.

You can even ask 420 who did play at the one PUG faux did host:

Posted by: new420
i even had a lot of fun the first match when i came in last lol. but yes, whoever reads this should participate in the next one.

to the pubbers: so much more fun than pubbing because its all good players having fun and actually having team work

to the kwers: its like a really fun kw, minus the really bad sportsmanship :P

So, if someone came into a game you organized, spammed to no end for their game, and continued to do so despite warnings from the server operator to stop, you wouldn't call that disrespect? I'm sorry, but who's server was that? Which clan organized the match? And you want to come in and advertise for a DIFFERENT game in a server that we worked hard to earn, create, and invite players to? I am absolutely certain that given you in my position, you would've laid down the banhammer so hard that servers in China would feel the tremor. However, I never even threatened you with a kick.

So? We were having fun. Does that give you the right to interrupt it with spam and advertise your game? Sorry.

Second, you were spamming the text chat. Don't deny it or try to work around it by saying it wasn't directed at you. What you're saying is that your 18-wheeler wasn't really disrupting the highway, it was simply all over the road to block that blue sedan back there.

Third, find the five people who wanted to scrim. That's right, only one person suggested it. Every other HMC, MAW and TUI was either not online or engaged in the game. Forgive me for sounding bigoted about rankings, but an HMC Official said no, mostly because they don't want the entire clan tangled up in such a mess.

Fourth, if nobody in halo/whatever goes in there any more, how does that give you the right to spam our game?

Fifth, if you don't think the game is so dead, and if that many teams showed up when CAL hosted it, why not go ask them for players instead.

And if the censor filters you out, stop trying to put in curse words. ;)

No, I wouldn't have, because people can't come interrupt you when you're sc-blam!-. You would have the game max player'd or passworded. You WEREN'T SC-blam!-, YOU WERE PUBBING.

So? We were having fun. Does that give you the right to interrupt it with spam and advertise your game? Sorry.p

I definitely wasn't interrupting anything. I wasn't saying stuff nearly often enough to justify it as spam, I was asking first if anyone wanted to scrim, then if HMC wanted to scrim (where someone replied, then two of your guys said no). A TUI guy then came in, and I asked him if he wanted to scrim, he said no. 420 then said he would 2v2 and I asked "who else wants to 2v2?" Nobody replied, so I asked Tauron and Chronos specifically. Tauron said no, Chronos never replied, and considering you had implied a kick with your "warning" (If i recall correctly you said "I'm not going to say it again"), I was afraid to ask him more than twice when he didin't respond to a direct question.

Second, you were spamming the text chat. Don't deny it or try to work around it by saying it wasn't directed at you. What you're saying is that your 18-wheeler wasn't really disrupting the highway, it was simply all over the road to block that blue sedan back there.

Was I stopping anyone from playing? You don't have to watch the chat, and even if you were, I wasn't typing long sentences or saying stuff often. It wasn't spam.

How is it a mess? You both said you "weren't in the mood" and you're "playing badly right now." Exact responses. Maybe if you have terrible communication with each other, it can be messy.

http://www.ventrilo.com <--easy fix.

Fourth, if nobody in halo/whatever goes in there any more, how does that give you the right to spam our game?

I wasn't interrupting anything, and I was NOT spamming. Spamming would be typing multiple messages before the previous ones roll of the screen. I was typing one, maybe two per text block.

Fifth, if you don't think the game is so dead, and if that many teams showed up when CAL hosted it, why not go ask them for players instead.

Do you honestly think I haven't done that? I've got Roach, I tried to get Vespillo, but most of them hate the game now because nobody plays competitively.

The game is dead because nobody plays competitively.

And if the censor filters you out, stop trying to put in curse words. ;)

You hate scrim+ing that much that you'd consider a curse word? el oh el.

Edit: The first post still has meaning. I don't expect half of you to show up at all because all you did is pub and call it sc-blam!-, but whatever. Have fun with that, whoever actually does plan on joining the draft pug next time, I guarantee you'll have a blast. I'm done arguing with kids that started playing Halo two years too late and are arguing about it like they've played from day one. You talk like you know what sc-blam!- is, like you know how it runs, and what communities are made of. Get some more experience under your belt and then get back to me.

Next draft pug will going down next Friday at 9:30 PM EST. You must have vent, a microphone would make the game a lot better (communiation is key, obviously), but if you don't have one and really can't get one, whatever. Minimum of 10 people to play, XFIRE me at Phozee for more details.

Agreed. And who the -blam!- are you to tell them what the -blam!- to do on their god-damned server? They call it a scrim, it's their server, so it's a scrim.

Lol? I think my post did quite the opposite, in fact. Thanks for playing anyway though. If you have something with some substance to say, do so. Otherwise, it's none of your business, so by posting pointless remarks like this, you're only making a fool out of yourself.

You pretty much made it clear at the same time that you didn't have the brains nor the patience to read our long retorts and counter-retorts back and forth, but you felt like you had to show you have balls by posting about something you know nothing about.

Agreed. And who the -blam!- are you to tell them what the -blam!- to do on their god-damned server? They call it a scrim, it's their server, so it's a scrim.

...I think that's arguably the stupidest thing I've read on these forums, period. They can call it whatever they want because it's their server? So that means I can put my server on inifnity race with plasma pistols, 1v1 no vehicles, and because it's my server and I want to call it a scrim, that makes it a scrim.

Cool.

You do not always have to play games competitively, you know? To be honest, sometimes competitively playing a game makes -blam!- out of people.

I never said you have to play competitively. I said a game's community, in general, is defined by the competitive play that goes on, and vice versa. lrn2read. If you aren't even going to read the posts in a thread, don't bother replying to them.

If I didn't care so much about Halo, if I didn't care about keeping the game alive and competitive, if I didn't care about trying to spark some sort of competition and fun in this god forsaken game, I wouldn't be providing a halo.invite vent or irc server, I wouldn't be hosting draft pugs, and I wouldn't keep coming back to this game every time I say I give up, because deep down I know every time that I don't want to give up. Halo was the first game I played competitively in CAL, and it was the most fun I've had in the last 4 years of gaming. If you'd been through what I had, perhaps you'd see it the way I do.

Its our server, and if you are a disturbance, you will be kicked/banned. Altough we did not even threaten to ban/kick you, the former still applies. You have no right to say anything, or even arguing us about our call.

If youve got a problem with our server and the people who run it, bring it up on the HMC boards (link in sig) or simply dont join our server anymore. Its not like we care if you arent in our server anymore.

Lock requested on this thread.

I'm here to defend one of our closest allied clans. Faux, you have no right to go on someone's server, start spamming it up. Now I was there at the practice, but wasn't on to see the rest, but I trust these guys, and they are some of the best people I've met.

It's not worth arguing over anymore buddy, just move on.
