Happy? I can't type the actual word because of the blam filter. Sheesh.

still just don't try to get around the -blam- filter, i mean not saying i am some people are offended by swearing, so that's why they use the -blam- filter so people don't have to see it, and also trying to get around -blam- filter could get you blacklisted.

I wasn't trying to get around it. Getting around the filter will be something like...for example, let's say "happy" is a bad word, and is filtered out. Getting around it will be doing stuff like: "h.appy" or "h@ppy".

All I said was "eff", which is pretty much an F, but symbolizing that I meant it the "other" way.

I wasn't really mad at you (ok, maybe I was sort of annoyed), I just said that sentence to put in -blam!- appropriately. So yeah...lol.

TO get off the trolling:

There is no way to stop your hard drive space "disappearing", windows continually pinches bits of your hard drive, the amounts you've said are going (100mb+), are perfectly normal. I reckon that if you reboot your PC, you'll get a chunk of that 100mb back, because windows is stealing it for a kind of quasi-RAM (Page filing). You can turn it off, but i'd heavily recommend against it.

What you could do, though, is just delete some crap to make room. Look through c:\program files, you'll probably find loads of crap you havent used in ages that you can just hit the delete button on. However, don't do that, use add/remove programs, or you'll get registry problems.

I learned something recently, every time you turn on your computer a very small portion of your hard drive becomes unusable, the amount is extremely small, fraction of a megabyte. You can only get it back by defragmenting and then you still don't get all the storage back. The amount is rather insignificant, sorry about being off topic with that.

Well, guess what jackass, I DID read it, and apparantly I don't use either one of them.

-Think before you write. I always read the above posts to confirm that my question is still valid enough to be asked. Don't you think, that maybe, there's a chance that I DID read it, but don't use either browsers?

-You didn't have to be such a jerk to someone who is experiencing computer problems. You know what, FFS, just don't answer ANY of my questions and/or threads anymore. If you're going to prove to me you're no help at all, what the eff is the point. My respect to you as a regular member just went right out my half-frozen window.

Someone needs to kick back and have a beer or two before posting again.

You asked for where the Temporary Internet Files cache was, I told you where it was and how to fix it through my very first post. If you had seen my posts, you simply could've acknowledged that you've tried it and that it hasn't worked. You gave me no evidence to believe that you had indeed read my posts.

Jerk? In the two years of dealing with the n00blets on this forum, I've dealt with worse than you, and I flame not the n00b, but the competent member who I know has the ability to understand what I'm saying but simply refuses to.

Um...right...losing your respect is...uh...such a shame? I've earned the respect of generation after generation of Maw netizens, met people far greater and more worthy of my time; I need more respect about as much as I do AIDS. Realize also that because of the rash actions of one thread, you've just lost the support and assistance of...well...

Ten to one, you likely didn't see my posts when you were too busy quoting someone else and are now simply too ashamed to admit it.

Or you're just using one hella funky browser there.

Dude. You seriously didn't understand what I posted did you. I HAVE A DIFFERENT BROWSER. I HAVE NEITHER IE OR FIREFOX. And since WHEN THE HELL did we have to start proving that we read each other's post or not?

I don't get why you are getting so pissed at me not "acknowledging your post". Even IF I decided to not listen to you for any ridiculous reasons, how's that your problem? Seriously, I don't listen to jerks who get pissed off at a random guy experiencing computer problems, for the wierdest reasons.

And thank you everyone else, who showed me different alternatives to clear out my Temp folder.

I'm pretty sure you got pissed at people for advising others that they should save up and upgrade to a PCI-Express motherboard.

Your reasoning is flawed; calm down. Calling people jerks or jackasses all the time makes you sound immature, and I don't care what age you say you are. A simple apology won't work in case you believe you are wrong sometime in the near future. It hasn't before.

And I'm pretty sure you're going to be "pissed" at me for calling you a hypocrite. I'm sure I won't care though.

-They weren't advising at all, they pretty much gave him no choice. People should have the right to decide what kind of GPU they want, other people's worthless decisions or not.

-I don't call people jerks or jackasses "all the time" unless they are being one, like in this thread for instance. And no, whatever I decide I hardly regret, so I will not believe this incident or any others will be my fault. Ever. And besides, I don't see what I have done wrong here besides "supposedly ignore a random post". I read it anyways, yet me15ter has to act like a jerk and start yelling at me for not listening to him. No one here is my father; I will choose who to respect and who to completely ignore.

-No actually, I won't get pissed at you because you at least put it in a more "polite-ish" way. And yes, I myself wouldn't care if I started getting pissed at you, which hasn't happened yet. xD

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

Ok, what browser are you using? I can't give advice on anything other than IE right now as my boss doesn't want me installing FireFox or others, but perhaps when I get home I will be able to dl it and look around, assuming it's free of course.

My only other piece of advice is to look in your browsers directory, see if it stores it's temp files in it's root folder, and check under (assuming your using XP) C:\Documents and Settings\[account name here]\Application Data or C:\Documents and Settings\[account name here]\Local Settings, you may need to set your folder "View" options so you can see hidden and system files. Thats under the "Tools" menu ->Folder Options->View tab

And if there's nothing there, then your just going to have to look around your browser's options to see if you can find the directory where it sticks that stuff, or look around your HD. I will see what I can do when I get home.

You call THAT back in the day?

Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. June 1981. It still works, and I still have fun playing Alpiner. If that's not "Back in the day" then I don't know what is.
