Come on.
What has happened to the MAW? When I joined the Maw back in '05 (yes even before Kim and quite a few of you), this community was a caring bunch of people who helped each other out when a fellow member passed by. A few of you may remember the old "glory" days. Well, what happened? Everytime somebody asks a question, they get flamed with remarks such as "gtfo" and "Google it".
Hello? Weren't we all "newbies" at one point? Didn't we ask those "retarded" questions at one point? You can deny it, but trust me, you all have at some point. Sadly, as of late, the MAW has become a mostly hostile community now.
I noticed the behavior started around the time Halo 2 Vista was announced. Like I know you may be inclined to flame somebody for asking a question, but I mean, why be so hostile? Sure, you can read the stickies, and sure you can Google, but they don't answer everything you know. As well, the grammar fascism. So long as you can understand it, I see no issue on being so picky. Not everyone gets an A+ in English class.
Even if the question is pretty "retarded", you people shouldn't be blatantly rude about it. You guys serve as examples to newcomers. Just kindly tell them what they should do, and welcome them into the community with open hands. Instead of telling them to "gtfo" and supposedly "owning" people with smartalec-ish comments, stand up to the people you truely are, and give your fellow man a helping hand.
So all-in-all, I've been pretty disappointed at some of the posts that have popped up here. I know the MAW is a respectful and welcoming community, so start showing it again.
