I've just been wondering, but is it not possible to create a bot that can automatically create random accounts on B.net?

Because, I see many websites that protect themselves against just that. Usually in the form of entering text that you see from a confusing picture.

Is B.net protected against these so-called bots?

I'm pretty sure the passport account creation process involves the confusing picture.

Yeah, I remember putting in a whole bunch of number/letters that I could barely read in order to make a .net account.

Picture is merely an obstacle for bots, though not as fast as it use to be massing up accounts, the bots could still fill out all information with the exception of the picture that can prompt to the user to input.

Ach! Was ist los?

I've never seen bots posting on B.net.

And no, the Soul doesn't count.

And then what? There is no way to create a passport account without passing "The Picture". And the whole point of creating the bot in the first place is so that the user doesn't have to do anything, and can launch a DoS attack by having all their minion accounts log in at once.

Not that it would work on B.net of course.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere a while back that there is an autoban for such mass spamming...but it might have just been speculation.

Speculation on speculation, ain't the net awsome?!

In any case, even if someone made a bot to post random stuff on the forums, it wouldn't do much thanks to the cap on new threads you can make, and it would be easy for a Mod to notice such a thing.

A person would have to make/hijack a lot of accounts to cause b.net trouble, and it wouldn't even be worth the time because of how easy it would be to clean up, a DoS attack on B.net is not likely to ever succeed, in any form.
