Ok, I don't know how to explain this well, without a video of me recording the problem, but I'll do my best...

Ok, it's for RANDOM songs from my playlists. It's always the same ones. Follow Me -Breaking Benjamin, Saw soundtrack, Blood (Empty Promises) -Papa Roach, etc. etc. Who knows there might be more. But the things is, everytime I want to use one of those songs in WMM, it DOUBLES it's size (so let's say the duration of a song is 3:00. It becomes exactly 6:00 minutes). I put it in anyways, but it works ok ONLY if I play the audio file from the beginning. If I play it somewhere around the middle, it jumps to a random spot on the music, and screws everything up.

I got home from school early today, so from my previous recordings, I wanted to make a extra special 5th montage, with the best kills in my archives. Apparently, when I wanted to use _____________ (song name removed, because if I/we get this fixed, I don't want to spoil it now), and the same problem happened. And trust me, it's IMPOSSIBLE to edit a montage like that.

Can someone help me? No, PLEASE don't say something like: "lawl, u n00b, use s0ny v3gas, wmm is teh 5uck". I know that, and I already have Sony Vegas, but it doesn't use/like Gamecam's recording qualities. Fraps is Craps to me, because it makes in-game recording lag more, and takes up about a gigs worth for every freakin' minute.

Anyways, thanks for any responces.

Delete all your music and then re-rip/download/whatever it.

Horrible advice. Try reinstalling WMM. Also be sure you are using WMM 2, as the original version sucks hardcore with freezes and bugs.

I'm pretty sure I have the first one...because it doesn't say anyting in the icon that relates to "2". It just says Windows Movie Maker. But then again, I have SP2 with XP, so I wonder why I don't have WMM2...so maybe my copy of WMM is the second version? Anyone know how I can tell the difference? As in amount of trasistions and effects, etc...

Oh and just for the hell of it, I'll just download WMM2. But while I'm looking as well, can someone provide me with the best link (as in, no torrent site, not some wierd .co.nr.img.exe.co-eu.org domained sites [I never trust those], etc.) to get WMM2? Thanks for any help.

Aw crap...I found one here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemak er2.mspx...but it's 2 Gigs! Which is all I have!

Then you should wait. Is it really 2 gigs? I'm not seeing how any normal program can be that big...

Wait a minute, the d/l instructions tells me that any user with SP2 installed automatically has WMM2. So does that mean I have WMM2? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure most programs that are second and up generations have the numbers 2 and up on it...

Must of missed that, yes, SP2 has WMM 2. Grab your XP disk and try reinstalling.

Wait wait wait, you're telling me to reinstall a whole OS? What about me files??? =*(

Is there a way for me to install WMM2, like directly, without M$ telling me to use Automatic Updates or download SP2? I swear, Microsoft is NO help at all. I'll try searching for a direct download link.

Have you ever used the XP disk? It can reinstall your optional components.

Nope, to be honest with you, not really. I first got my computer with XP way back when I was still a mere youngster...so my uncle pretty much installed every basic stuff on it. He has the XP disk

And not to worry, I checked Google images, and even WMM2 is written out as Windows Movie Maker 2. But then again, I could be wrong...what does your copy of WMM2 say (icon-wise)?

Is there like a fix for this bug I constantly encounter on WMM2?

My icon is just a colorful reel. I would inquire at http://windowsmoviemakers.net/

OMG...that site looks so awesome. Make your own transitions? Extra effects packs? Rating credits? This is WMM user/fan heaven...=O

I'm going to post there too btw.

Windows Movie Maker isn't bad.... it's just a child's toy compared to something Vegas could achieve.

Agreed.

Anyways, I got help from members at the wmm.net forums, and it seems that WMM doesn't like .mp3 files, and causes it to glitch around. Solution? Download Windows Media Encoder 9, and convert .mp3 songs to .wma songs. =D
