Well, if there was going to be a trial, it would probably have been out by now right?

I'm affraid that without a release date having been issued yet, there is little hope for a demo until that information is given, along with the official requirements.

Demos and trials usually come out after the game has been released.

I wouldn't quite say "usually." The norm that is starting to take place in recent events is many game developers are releasing trials before the games are released to build up the excitement of the game. Don't get me wrong, I agree that many demo's have been released after the games' launch, but I believe it could go either way.

A few examples of big games releasing demos before the release include, but are not limited to, Supreme Commander, Motorstorm, GRAW 2 (XBOX 360), and also, if I remember correctly, Call of Duty 2. Another demo that is prospected to be released soon is Command and Conquer 3, where the demo should be out February 23rd, but the game will release in April.

My point is to not make such ignorant responses, but rather to reflect upon the topic at hand.

Thanks for the responses, keep em comin'

If I recall correctly, didn't Battlefield 2's demo come out before its release?

Yes, I believe that is yet another game that is a great example of a pre-release demo.

Lots of 360 games have a demo before the games come out(well atleast Crackdown did). I don't really follow pc games with demos that well, so I wouldn't know about battlefield 2.

But have any of you considered maybe the game isn't ready for a demo to be released? And the game isn't quite finished yet?

What it is.

the demo showing at CES looks good..i wouldnt see why not.

Yes, I could not spot any noticeable problems or slow-downs in all the gameplay videos shown from the event. Those same demos would be more than welcome by many eager gamers I am sure.

A little off topic, but I just wish there would be a little more Halo 2 Vista recognition on the home page of this site. Many people have brought this up in previous posts as well, but it is definately evident that there has been few to no updates reguarding how Halo 2 Vista is coming along. But, I'm affraid paitience is the only payoff in this case.

Any ideas as to which level any of you would prefer in a demo for multiplayer? I'm gonna vote for Beaver Creek. It's a simple and well known level that has already been demoed.

Keep the responses flowin'

I think we should use Coagulation, but Beaver Creek sounds like a good idea.

Coagulation would be excellent as well, the only thing is that they released blood gulch for Halo PC demo, so it would be a little repetitive IMO, even though Coag. is an upgraded version of the map.

I would love a demo to be able to test the game on my computer to see how well and smooth it runs before going out and spending money on it.

Any other thoughts on a demo for Halo 2 Vista soon?
