What kind of training do Spartans go through during their training? I know bits and pieces of it, but not really the full deal (if it's talked about a lot, I haven't seen it anywhere really).

EDIT: I heard there was too much to explain and to read Fall of Reach... but if anyone could give any information, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

PS I was told this was where I should put this thread, so I hope I'm right now lol.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Eh, it doesn't really belong anywhere...

Spartans were selected at around age 6 based on genetic superiority. From there, they were taught everything about war. Tactics, weapons, survival, you name it. They were put through rigorous war games. At about age 13-14, they were better than most soldiers.

At this point, they were put through physical augmentations. This improved their reflexes, strength, eye sight, bone and muscle density, and overall physical attributes.

They eventually were fitted with the Mark IV MJOLNIR armor. This is basically the Halo armor without a shield system... Later on, this was improved to the Mark V, VI, and quite possibly the Mark VII in Halo 3.

If you want a more indepth look at their training, read the books, particularly First Strike and The Fall of Reach...

Go read the books. The storyline fills you in on everything before the game actually starts PLUS they rock. You get more in depth behind John and the Spartans and well, everything really.

at age six they were kidnapped by the UNSC to become soldiers, they trained and buy age 14 they were as strong as 3 or 4 platoons of marines, when they got Mjolnir armour they were unstoppable, Just before REACH fell, they were given the latest Mjolnir armour, it had enegry shields. At this time, in the 20 or so years of the spartan program, only 3 had been KIA and 1 to wounded to continue active duty. In the year 2552 the covenant attacked reach, it was a loss for humanity, though the covenant took extremly heavy casualties. All spartans except Spartan 117 were KIA. (though their might have been 2 or 3 that survived). Hours after reach fell, the Pillar of Autumn slipspaced into the Halo system. halo CE had begun..........

The Spartans were the greatest warriors humanity ever knew, The spartan 3 program, was nearly completly destoyed, only 3 or so lived, the spartan 4 program took 40% casualties, they are still fighting, thought the master Chief is the only confirmed surviving spartan II

XBL: FTG Spartan
But you were dead a thousand times. Hopeless encounters successfully won. A man long dead, grafted to machines your builders did not understand. You follow the path, fitting in to an infinite pattern.
Yours to manipulate, to destroy and rebuild.
Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.
I know who you are.
You are Destiny.

to ther art of halo..

I'm assuming you haven't read all four of the novels. It is clear in the fourth and most current novel that there are more Spartan-II's alive than John-117. I don't have the Ghosts of Onyx with me but if you read it you will see.

Just letting you know.

Because being kidnapped, and trained for war whilst growing up with nobody and being put in danger is so fun. Well, if you have no soul like me, the rewards at the end would be pretty sweet.

Or possibly killed on the table. I think you forgot that.

But anyways, who doesn't wish they have superpowers?
