I removed halo pc out of my computer because I had to install a software for my computer, and it (halo pc) has been out for maybe 4 days.

I put it back in today, and halo won't run at all. It starts, minimizes, and I hear the menu music, but I can't play, I can't maximize it at all, I can't do anything

When I hit ctrl alt delete, and end task... it says "gathering exception data"

I did -window at the end of target line, no work.

Now I can't play my game. what do I do?

MAW Mike told me to update to 1.07 which I did, and recieved error message:

there is a problem with your game installation, you may need to reinstall the game to fix it

I re-installed 4 times and downloaded the patch, no work. any ideas?

yes I looked through stickies and saw no help

Have you checked if your graphic card is good enough to run Halo PC. If you haven't then you should.

I'm there but, man this is really starting to sound like communism.
Long live the MAW.

he said that it had been working before.
can you tell us your specs of your comp?
perhaps even what you installed, because it could conflict with Halo or something.

all I did install was for my monitor, graphics portion only.

I have a P4 3GHz CPU 512MB RAM integrated audio/video

It has worked before as well.

I just tried it, I have ran the 1.07 update and everything, all installed correctly, same thing happens, it minimizes, and when alt F4 is used, it says "gathering exception data!" and then I close that out and the whole send/don't send error report shows up, already hit send and don't send....

Pissing me off!

When you uninstall, are you manually deleting the whole halo directory?

I did a re-install, didn't work, then I removed the whole program from add/remove programs.

I didn't install Gamespy Arcade at all

I then re-installed it, inserted the CD and installed it, typing in CD key and then downloaded the 1.07 update

did you try just booting it without the update?

sounds like whatever you installed does not like halo

Uninstall it, and delete the Halo folder from your hard drive. When you uninstall a program it doesn't get rid of ALL of it. Your config files and savegames/profiles usually get left alone. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling whatever it is you installed before Halo, and if that doesn't work, use System Recovery.

Check the condition of the CD, if there are any scratches that run in circles with the edges of the disc, thats very bad. If it has scratches you might want to get some CD refinisher and then try and make a back up image of it on your Hard drive. I have Halo backed up on my Hard Drive and the Disc so I have my back-up set up for when my CD gets too bad to read, it has some minor scratches.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Try "rolling back" the driver for your monitor. I mean, if this allows you to still use your monitor. Maybe that driver is messing with Halo somehow. I had to roll back the driver for my video card to get HL2 working once.

If you have circular scratches, go buy a new disc. Circular scratches are disc killers. There's no CD refinisher on the market that can completely repair those.

That's why I always suggest to people to do their best to keep HaloPC in their computer from not reinstalling. HaloPC is by far, the most glitchiest game when it gets reinstalled.

Check your computer for any known halo.exe files (the previous ones) that was left behind in the uninstallation. Delete those, and try reinstalling. Ignore every errors (that consists of load-freezing, restarting, error messages, etc.), and allow HaloPC to install no matter what. It should work then.

My second-in-command in my clan experienced the same problem. It was so severe, I had to actually go all the way over to his house to help him fix it...=/

Guys, will you please help matt here??? I hate it when my thread never gets posts, but for someone who's requesting help? C'mon, I thought this was the Maw, not New Mombassa.

Personally, I have no idea what's going on, I've suggested all that I could tell you...Hopefully, someone who got theirs fixed, knows how to. =/

Good luck.
