You almost made me say "your mom" just now.

I'm going crazy about this crap, it seems...

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Wouldn't mature people see these jokes as simply jokes, and just ignore them?

I'm still not seeing how this isn't "I don't like it, and therefore it is wrong."

We all know how serious AIDS is, but when people are just having some fun, is it really that big a deal?

But the difference is that people are having fun at the expense of others. I personally have no problem with a little spam and fun, but there are better ways to do it and things like the aids epidemic shouldnt be joked about

But do their words have any merit to you? Does it really matter what some idiot posted in the deep bowels of some website that only a select few will read and most likely dismiss?

The question is not should they stop, because they never will. The question is can you be mature enough to deal with it and realize it inst a big deal and doesn't directly hurt you in any way.

Opinion: people shouldn't be so offended, and people shouldn't try to offend people.

It doesnt matter if it has any merit, people shouldnt be forced to see it every time they sign on to this forum. The question that is being proposed by this thread is if moderators should ban users for doing it. Spammers will never stop so should we just allow it? The logic behind your second point is clearly faulty. If you knew some of the personal situations of users on these forums prehaps you could better understand the reasons and origins of those who are against this.

This statement is clearly false. You could apply either one of these premises to other things and they wouldn't work. Why dont you ignore other things that occur so we can have no rules and live in harmony? The fact is that not all things should be and need to be ignored, instead rules should be put in place and people should understand that some content is offensive to others. Why use a joke like that when others could easily be substituted? We are allowing people to be offended so that two users can spam back and fourth in a topic. If nothing else the aids comments are spam and should be removed on that point alone, on top of their inflamitory and insensitive nature.

Death, you are the only one who is eating at my "WTF IS THIS?" nerve (which suprise, suprise, turns out I have).

If someone is being a bastard for any reason, AIDS or not, he's gotta stop. Now, I'm just not seeing as to how this whole forum suddenly turned into "AIDS are teh lol" just now, and that's hardly the case. People can freely talk about AIDS to a degree (it's not the thread topic, usually) and it wouldn't kill anyone.

I think Teh Maleman is trying to stop the [/aids] thing, because I remember him saying something to the effect of "a certain mod is getting pissed off, and I can understand why, so I'm trying to stop". I think you have to let this thing run it's course. Eventually people will tire of it. Anything else would be overkill.

I'd like to see an example of a statement made that would offend this person, then I'll cast my judgement. I mean, sure it's stupid to make a joke about something like that, but then how far are we going to take it? Should we ban jokes about chlamidya (sp?) as well? How about gonnorhea (sp? again)? They, and countless other diseases, natural disasters, freak accidents, and other things that we may make offhand comments about have ruined just as many, possibly more, lives than AIDS has. So the question then becomes "Where do we draw the line?"

You'd have to find someone who actually liked to monitor the flood, We(input annoying alternating capslock here)zy.

And they didn't ban talking like somone who no speak the english; they just insult those guys.

And what happened to messaging a ninja? They're the people with the blacklisting power; provide them with the people being bastards.

Maybe because you obviously don't care as much.
I really can't explain the absurdity you're making. I try and try, but it seems I suck at linguistics.

So because someone said anything at all about the topic, you've been hurt? You obviously care too much.

I know that my brother ended his own life a little over a year ago and when I see people make jokes about it, it deeply offends me, but I also know that the number of people who have been through what I have is far smaller than those who deal with AIDS which is why I know that i have to just deal with it, but something like the aids jokes shouldnt be tolerated.

And yet the suicide jokes can stay... What the hell?

My best friend, and teammate committed suicide too! I am not offended by people makin jokes cause it was mainly HIS fault that he pulled the trigger, the circumstances don't matter. There's always a way out that doesn't include quitting.

No, they can stay because it isnt a problem to a large number of people. I am aware of the entire picture in that the people who have suicide victoms in their family are far smaller than those who have people who have had aids. I think that both should be removed, but realisticly neither one will. It is really sad

My gamertag is SHADOWRIDERJP.

I think it's immature to joke about AIDS like I have seen in The Flood. I personally don't find it offensive, most likely because it takes a lot to offend me. I just think it is dumb and immature. I really wouldn't have a problem if the mods crackdown on it or not.
