It would be total war on every forum.

It would be chaos. This is the job of mods. Power in too many hands is very dangerous. Try to run a group where everyone has full control and you will see the chaos.

I think that members should have one one-day blacklist to use per week to ban another normal member of Bungie.net. This would stop members from posting spam or abusing their blacklists, because they would then be blacklisted by another rightous member of Bungie.net. Also, I think that you should only get this one week blacklist option once you've been a member for a month or so. This will help out the moderators as well, and will also stop spam problems before they get too bad.

Your idea works in theory.

Communism works in theory.

At least communism can work... for a while.

Giving one of the forum ninjas' most sacred powers to the general public would single handedly destroy this site in a matter of hours. Think about it, out of every one that disagrees with you; it would only take one person to ban you from speaking you mind on this site for a long, loooong time.

This is complete insanity.

We must unite and stop this idea while there is still time!!!
(Not like it would ever happen, though.)

So, instead of rule breakers spamming the forums, they would be BLing random people?

I wonder how long it would take for someone to BL all the mods, I'd guess about 10 minutes, or however long it takes for them to make enough accounts to do so.

What if they blacklisted all of the Bungie staff too! D:

Bungie.net would be taken over by shenanigans if such an idea were to be realized.

Why don't you just give me ONE SECOND!

I have to say it, but no. That's not really a good idea. Someone would ban someone they hate all the time, it'd be used for elitism, and abused. Sure a little good could come from it, say... a really bad thread, but then wouldn't get you anywhere anyways... because; when the ban wore off... they'd do it again...

For reasons that should be fairly obvious, I don't agree in any way that users should be able to blacklist other users.

What might be worth discussing is the ability of users to 'block' persistent trolls etc from answering in their own individual threads.

Just a thought.
