O.k the sniper rifle from halo one or two guys?

  • 02.21.2007 4:11 AM PDT

Depends what you mean by better. The one in halo 2 fires quicker and is easier to hit with, the one in halo 1 has night vision and overpenetration. I suppose the one in 1.

Yeah. If it's "better" by how easily it can kill people, then I guess the sniper rifle in Halo 2 is a "better" weapon since it just gives you the kills.

The sniper rifle from the first game can hold up to 24 bullets in back up, in addition with four bullets already loaded. That's twenty-eight bullets, total. The sniper rifle from the second game, however, can only hold twenty bullets, with four already loaded, making a total of twenty-four. That's a whopping difference of four bullets between games. So, I guess the first game's rifle is better, because it's just that leet.

If I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good nite.

Have you guys ever killed two grunts with one shot in Halo 2? NO.
Is it possible in Halo: Combat Evolved with the sniper rifle? Yes.
Is there night vision in Halo 2? NO.
Halo CE? Yes.
Does Halo 2's sniper rifle take skill? NO, that's what auto-aim, larger hitboxes, slower moving targets, and magnetism are for.
Does Halo CE's sniper take skill? Yes. Especially in multi-player.
Is Halo CE's sniper rifle better than Halo 2's sniper rifle? Yes.

I forgot to factor that part in, good point.

  • 02.21.2007 5:15 AM PDT

here is what both of them look like at the minute

Halo CE Sniper Rifle
* More ammo
* can kill up to 3 people with 1 shot (if the 1st person has no shield)
* night vision

Halo 2 sniper
* cant think of anything that makes it better

so id have to say the Halo CE Sniper Rifle was better

The Halo 1 sniper had cooler animations and the Night Vision option for Campaign, plus it was more accurate.

H1 Sniper > H2 Sniper

More accurate? Yeah, I guess you could call it that considering Halo 2's sniper rifle's auto-aim was so bad you didn't have any control over it.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

i dont see much differences but scope view in Halo 2 is wayyyy better. i can play game with that camera

Don't judge by bullets, Or I could just say the SMG is better then both, or maybe the Battle Rifle.

They both kill, and who cares if they don't double penetrate, Do you want it to go trough two people? Just imagine the spawn camping, it would be 2x worse, And would you really want some dumb kid sniping your team from across the map?

Halo2 all the way, It looks cooler, sounds cooler, even tastes better, Overall if you talk about bullets Halo:CE wins, Bells and Whisles tie, (Nightvision was not handy too much, yet niether was the LCD screen)

Become the hunter.

I liked the Halo: CE rifle, the scope told you the distance and elevation of your target, the night vision was cool, and the penetration was sweet.

The only two things I don't like about the Halo sniper is it takes longer to reload and the melee is hard to get a hit. Then again it's meant for distance shooting, so you shouldn't have to melee with it. I love the distance and elevation thing. It kills multiple targets with nightvision. My keyboard is really greasy. The first one holds more bullets. It looks cooler too. I don't get it what that meant they sound different. They sound exactly the same to me.

ODST Romeo

Halo 2's is better but the Halo CE's one took actual skill. I liked CE's better

Then again, this is a run-and-gun shooter. Actual combat tactics and real life physics do not apply. There's no need to compensate for wind, drift, and a load of other things. The shot reaches the target instantaneously. But that's not my point. Halo is almost absurd in the fact that the sniper rifle is extremely effective at close-range. See, logic would dictate that the sniper rifle, being a weapon intended for use at long distances, would not be as effective as at shorter distances. But, this is not so. No-scoping is just a huge feature in Halo and Halo 2.

Yes, but not all video games are run-and-gun jumpfests like Quake. :)

There's no such thing as overpenetration. You keep going in until she screams out your name and...oh this is about the sniper rifles. Sorry, my bad...

...the one from Halo: CE was definitely better (oh night scope, I miss thee so).

WOW! you must have really good taste if you are looking at my sig! if thats true try this link! tasty

I own these fools!

snpr from halo ce for sure. there is nothing cooler than waiting for two or three grunts to line up and then knocking um down. and i also love the distance to target indicator. and lets not forget the night vision.
the only thing cool about halo2 snpr was the screen

2x scope was -blam!- amazing. I always walk around corners in 2x scope because it's so much easier than no-scoping. In Halo 2, the 5x scope is to zoomed in to do that with.

I wouldn't say it was easier than no-scoping at close-range, but the 2X scope makes it much easier to shoot the hit boxes than at farther ranges.
