Subject: B.net "friends list?"

I understand this is a forum. However, it would be nice to have a friends list to see if people you've met on your travels is on B.net. It would make things easier when you want to send them a PM as well. Is this possible? Is this a good idea? Will I ever stop eating sugar substitute? Anyone?

I totally 100% agree with you. I always want to know who is online and what would be better. I hope bungie read this!

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

I wholly endorse this idea, product or service.

If it only showed online/offline for people on your FL that would be very cool indeed.

Hey Pezza, wanna be my buuuuddddyyy?

It'll just increase the spam I get in my message box. But I like it. I wouldn't mind being able to see if the people I talk to a lot are online.

Normally I have them on MSN but there not always on MSN.

There has been discussions of b.net friends lists before. It said about the advantages and disadvantages of friends lists. Want me to explain?

No, lol. Anyways, I don't think you really need a friends list. If you really wanted to message someone the PM system we have now works. Although if that's too slow for you, I'm sure you could find different means since most people here have a IM also.

I can also see a different view of all this and that is to cause havoc on the forums, I think Jay, Jeff, and Pezza know what I'm talking about, they wouldn't have to get on XBL to tell each other what they were doing. Oh, and can't forget about that FadetoBlack character.

Oh yeah BTW...... WHERES'S MY GIGGITY COOKIE!!!

thats a really creative idea. And I agree it would be easior to pm someone. Plus it would be awesome if someone is in your friends list that you can start a IM chat with them so you won't have to go to a group to do gabbly.

You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

This would be a really sweet feature if added. It would make it easier for the community to talk to each other and come together.

I logged into Bungie.net and all I got was this lame member rank.

I'm definitely all for it. I've been wanting a friends list on here for a while now.

Great idea...although, it would mean that I couldn't just ignore someone I didn't want to talk to since they'd know I'm online.

I need someone to fill me in on the why. Why is it easier to send PMs to friends than non-friends? Why do we need a list to remind us who we like? Why does sending a PM specifically when someone is online make the PM better than if it were sent when that same person is offline? Surely that person answers the PM either way, right?

Well, you used "you" as your pronoun, so the logical interpretation is that you were telling me what good such a list meant to me. If you wanted to talk about how it helped the community in general, you would have said "people."

So how does knowing when someone is online improve my forum experience, besides providing me with a piece of trivia, assuming that I am Joe Forum-Goer?

It wouldn't. But Bungie.net features aren't designed to favor one user...
