No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

I had no problem creating this post.

Too bad that's not the problem. :|

I have no problems replying. I simply cannot make new topics.

Edit 1
The problem has been localized to some extent as being a FireFox issue. IE 7 works fine.

Javascript not working 100% in Firefox, Achronos.

I can't seem to make a new topic either. I don't have a problem with replying, though; that's pretty weird.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

It is a problem with the java script on FireFox. I've been getting a lot of messages about this, and the everyone who has been having problems has been using FireFox to browse this site. When I tell them to delete their cache, it doesn't help. So I tell them to try it with IE and everything works fine.

I don't know where the problem lies, but it seems that more or less every one who uses FireFox has been having this problem. Until this is fixed, I'd advise everyone to use IE if they want to make topics and posts.

A recent Firefox update (2.0.0.2, I believe) changed something in how Javascript is executed. A fix is not available at this time, we're looking into it.

Firefox 1.5 still seems to work okay, btw. But anyway, either Firefox broke something or they changed something that caused code to break as an unintended consequence. That's always the risk you take when you patch something. Your workaround is to not use Firefox for now. Sorry about that.

For the record, btw, this that the current site isn't tested against Firefox 2.0, only 1.5. The new site will be tested against both.

Yep, running out of Firefox 2.0.0.2, I can still create topics through the IE tab with no problems.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

Uh.... are you using the latest Firefox? Otherwise, yeah, we know, IE, FF 1.5 (and Opera, btw) are having no problems.

Will this problem be fixed before the update to forums occur or are we stuck with it?

You are most likely stuck with it for a little while - we have a hotfix for it, but it needs to be tested, as it has to potential to break a lot more than it fixes. I recommend the IE plugin for Firefox - or use Firefox 1.5 - it seems to not have the problem.
