I know that there are very few PC games out there right now that support any 64 bit OS. I currently have Vista 64 bits and im wondering if Halo2 will work on my OS?

The few, the proud, the leet.

The question you should be asking is will your 64-bit video driver work well enough.

ATI has 64 bit video drivers so yes, they will.

Most likely will do, because it needs to support 64 bit to have the 'Games For Windows' brand.

Just because a company has 64-bit driver support doesn't mean it works well enough.

What it is.

i am sure it will have support for 64-bit, and if i'm not mistaken i was reading some forums where they actually mention that the game will be able to "play from disc so that gamers can stream the game and play while it's installing in the background."(http://halo2pc.org/news/2007/02/10/play_hal o_2_while_installing_it)

I have the 64-bit version of Vista as well, and i expect the game to be fully compatible with the OS.

As well as it supporting 64 bit systems, I hope it will support dual core processors.

Doesn't Supreme Commander support dual core? I could have sworn it did.

You're wrong. A LOT of games support dual cores. And the ones that don't will have a patch for it.

You know, all of these questions could be answered if we had a FRIGGIN UPDATE. It's been almost three months, come on bungie.

almost 3 months? it's been way longer than that, probably back in like October, either that or early November, either way, it's been way too long.

Ya, and the same can be said about Vista's 32 bit drivers. Whats your point?

Vista was made mostly because of 64bit tech. Yes, there was 64bit Xp, but that was a rather half hearted attempt.

What was wanted (and arguably needed) was an OS done from the ground up to cater for 64bit stuff. Which Vista is, although you can also get 32bit versions.

Shame its so bloody crap. Having to rely on my XP partition.

you need air dude.............

Alot of games will be patched to support dual core processors, Steam will be updated soon by Valve to support dual core just like Quake 4 was. I'm also guessing that Bungie would have to support 64bits as its a first party game for the new OS.

always in to learn something so:
whats the difference between 32 and 64 bit gaming? how do you find out if your graphics card supports/doesn't support it?

I don't think we're talking about 64 bit GPU's. I was thinking 64 CPU's. 64 bit GPU's are OLD.

Bits are the number of on and offs a computer can fetch. On and off's equle commands, so with each hertz, my CPU will fetch 64 ons and offs (64 commands) the more you have the better off you are.

Each bit is one command (even though I'm doing CPU's, this is a good example. Imagen you want to change frames, well that requires the computer to do an on/off on your monitor. It might turn one pixel off (or a different color, but it's operated in 0's and 1's, which are ons and offs). The CPU would use 1 bit to change that color of the pixel, then it would change the rest on the monitor for the frame to go by. Get what I'm saying yet?

What it is.

^So basically it can operate a 64-bit program at about double the speed compared to a 32-bit version program, thus increasing performance...I am eager to play Halo 2 Vista in 64-bit because i have yet to play a game that is supports 64-bit.
