I just got the Premium Vista upgrade for $278.00 and it says in the recommended area that I should have at least 128MB of video memory and I have 64 MB. Is there a problem? BTW I haven't installed it yet.

In what relation does this post have to do with Halo 2 Vista, or Halo PC?

Maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass you'd notice that many people come to this forum for PC related help.

To the OP: You should go get at least a 256 Mb graphics card if you want to enjoy Vista to it's full poitential.

My parents are the kind of people that don't like to spend money. How do I convince them to buy that kind of card? They are fixed on the idea that video memory isn't really needed.

Start saving. You can get a decent card easily if you mowed lawns over the summer or shoveled snow over the winter. Or you could find a part time job. That way it's your money. And you can spend it how you want, completely subverting your parents and their thrifty ways.

It is needed for any king of intensive 3D applications. So tell them you want to be an architect and you need the card to run CAD. Of course coming up with the $5,000 - $10,000 for a CAD program may be a little difficult. Uh nevermind....

Tell them your Rabbai said its alright.

Better yet, go back to XP and forget about Halo 2 Vista. If you buy Halo 2 Vista you just sucked Microsoft's dick.

Kindest regards

Heyyo,

Well, you could do with your current vidcard, it's just that it won't preform nearly as well as other vidcards. I'm sure Windows Vista will even run on laptops with crappy Intel "extreme" onboard vidcards-that-shouldn't-exist-cause-they-are-total-crap edition of vidcards. =P

Great way to make money in cold places like Alberta Canada? shovel roofs. That's right, ya heard me... shoveling snow and ice off roofs. There's a heckload of houses that have REALLY poor insulation, and in order to do a temp solution... well, other than properly insulating the house... if that's not the problem, then it's probably the roofer didn't do it right and there's heat leaking, or even something like the furnace not being properly sealed and causes heat to come through and melt the snow and ice causing ice buildup in trough and edges of the roof, potentially damaging walls with water damage and could cause the paint to peel, or even the drywall to crack and break off if left to get that bad.... anywho, I digress... I was making $25/hr cad to do that. =D

Other than that? not much I could add other than yeah, finding a good source of income.

Halo 2 will require a 128+ gpu. Get the cheapest one you can find, and be sure it will work with your motherboard, etc (ask shop salesmen?). I have a 6600GT, cheap piece of crap, but it works with Vista Premium will all settings on =).
