I'm trying to figure out a problem we've had recently.

Over the past couple of days, I've been in with a team in BTB Skirmish where we've gone to the obligatory blue screen halfway through the game. You know, someone quits, or you're being cheated, or whatever. Trouble is, when we come back from the blue screen after about 15 seconds, we're all the way back to the pre-game lobby. I've obviously been a victim of bridging before, but this... didn't seem the same.

Anyway, the games definitely counted as far as rank, and they were added to my count of games played. But there are no game links under my recent games, or any record that the games were ever played.

The blue screens happened at odd times, too. It wasn't like we were winning, or about to score. It just seemed random. Only one of those three times did the other team have a player who was a cheater (rank 50 in slayer), but there wasn't any indication that he was bridging in that game.

I'm stumped. It happened in two consecutive games last night. Any ideas?

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

That is odd indeed.

The stats page was down yesterday, but that wouldn't make only a few games out of many experience problems (games shouldn't have been having trouble at all, actually).

It could be some odd response to bridging or stand-by, or an altogether new form of cheating itself.

Do the games appear on your recent games list on the site? If not, do they appear on your teammates or opponents list?

No, the games are no where to be found. I don't know what affect they had on our opponents experience rank, but all of us lost rank.

Interesting. For some reason, this issue sounds familiar, like I've heard it once or twice long ago, but I just don't know.

I'm sorry, but it's beyond me. I would say one of two things: Cheating or unfortunate server glitch.

If it persists, try PM'ing Acrhonos. He may be able to shed some light on the subject.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

This happens to me on occassion. I have always suspected that it is a glitch, rather than a cheat. It has also happened to me that we go to the blue screen, and then come back, and all of a sudden I am the only one left in the game. It says "game over" and I go to the lobby and I've apparently won because I'm the only one who didn't "quit" (even though I'm sure EVERYBODY else did not quit the game at the same time).

My guess is that this is not cheating but rather all part of the same glitch that somehow kicks everybody out of the game except for one person. I don't know why it would happen, because I'm not much of a tech guy.

I think it's just connections going down. You know when someone "lags out"? That is probably what happens. I've had that happen sometimes. When that happens, the player goes to the lobby the only person left in the game but the real game is still going on, only that player quit. So it's just a matter of "lagging out".

I've experienced that, but this is different. it's the entire 8-man team leaving at once. And we don't go to the post-game lobby where we can look at stats - no stats exist. We get booted all the way back to the pre-game lobby.

In the blue screen before the game comes to an abrupt end, we've been able to hear the other team, and from all indications, they're as confused as we are. We'll go into blue screen and be able to hear them saying to each other "I'm contesting from shotgun!" or something like that.

I thought the first time it happened, it might be a glitch, since there seemed to be some network problems on Saturday. But on Wednesday night, this was the only problem.

(Besides friends and clan lists being completely screwed up, as they have been for months)

The same thing happened to me in BTB, blue screen to pre game lobby. Notice how we tie this game (insert disappearing game here) and the next game I level up.

I’m fairly certain the team we were playing was not cheating, it was probably just a error when trying to reestablish host for the game

Ok, so tell me something "Mr. Man", is it a glitch when your entire team goes from middle of game strait back to step 2 in the pre-game lobby without saying gameover?

Know? How do you mean?

This has occurred to me as well, I was in a party of eight (8) and about 30 seconds into the game, my entire team goes to blue screen and we come back and it is already counting down in the pregame lobby to start another game.

I appreciate the response. We did notice that our rank movements lagged behind on our wins/losses.

As far as games displaying, though, every game has shown up in the b.net lists except the three where the game spontaneously combusted. I don't think they'll show up at any point, since it's been over a week.

There seems to be an uptick in problems with Halo2 on XBL lately. Everyone in our community is having problems loading friends lists, and especially clan lists. That's probably a good question for a new thread...

Hate to tell you this Foman, but if that is happening to you, where you go to blue screen and come back and it says everyone else quit? You lagged out or got bridged out. Anytime you are bridged out by another person, it does that exact thing. It goes to blue screen, you come back as the only person, and it says you win. However, on the stats that are recorded, you quit the game, and you lose.

I've had host and had that happen. In a custom. How could I bridge myself out when I don't know how to bridge?

You could have lagged yourself out, and being host that would make it ideally easier for that to happen. Normally it happens when someone bridges you out of a game, but it also occurs if you lag out yourself.
