I have tried making a Game Variant, but it didnt work because for it to work everyone would have to start out with different weapons, but here is my dream Variant that could be possible in Halo 3 <---OMG! HALO 3!

JEDI

Juggernaut. Juggernaut has a sword, while the other players would have AR's and plasma grenades. Juggernaut would be super fast, over shields. Kill would be to 50. Weapons on map would only be able to be picked up by non-Juggernaut players. Weapons would be Spikers and SMGs, and scattered turrets. Meant to be played with 4-8 people.

Renamed from "PG 1 Flag" because people tend to be more careful in this gametype - and the defenders usually camp.

- BR/SMG start
- 5 minute time limit
- first to 3 wins

"Ninja Assault"

- Assault rules
- Bomb carrier is invisible
- Bomb carrier walks normal speed
- sticky arming
- bomb carrier has massive hit damage
- 15 Second bomb arm time (he's invisible)
- human weapons on map
- SMG/Magnum start
- Human weapons on map
- 3 minute match limit
- 4 rounds
Best Played on Sanctuary/Lockout

"Invisi-flag"

- 1 Flag rules
- Everyone's invisible - except the flag carrier
- Covie weapons on map
- Carbine/Needler stat
- Flag carrier has damage resistance
- Flag carrier has normal run speed
- Flag carrier is NOT invisible
- Touch return is ON
- Guass warthogs on map for all light vehicles
- No heavy vehicles
- 3 minute time limit
- 4 rounds

Making legendary easier would somewhat dissapoint me personally. I completed halo 2 Legendary in single player (admitted, after a lot of swearing) but the feeling when completing the game is best described as "legendary"

Please dont make it easier.

Other then that lovely update, I really love reading stuff about the coming Halo 3. I really want that game, I need it!.

This game has to go that the red team has more players than blue

12 players

EX: Red 7
Blue: 5


Reds are assasins, blue are president and bodyguads

Red, only shoot with sniper, blue, shoot with pistol and can melee

When the game starts 8 min, the blue hide, the red can search at 7 min, the blue find a place to take the president, their objective is to hide for 7 minutes or kil all the assasins while hiding

reds objective is to kill every blue, but if someone kills the president, the game is over, and red wins

Very fun game, can do this with gitches(of course time limit would be much greater, but once its 8 minutes the game is on)i luv doin this ontop of coag and containment, on headlong, turf and zanzibar

nice update, although i would like to see if there is anything new in the halo movie front, one can only hope. as far as game types go:

one that brings back memories of Goldeneye 64, is Slaps, no one can use weapons or granades and no shields, random starting weapons and map weapons.

invisi-snipe: everyones invisible, no shields, only snipers. works well on a small map. get ready for some shocking deaths that literally seem to come from no where.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents on the terminology here. I read all the posts so far and most of my thoughts have already been shared but here goes a couple more:

BUZKASHI
A game that in H1 & H2 has to be played on honors (like zombie). It's similar to (water?)polo where players on each team use rockets (the only weapon) to push/flip (or if brave, possibly drive) an indestructible warthog past the opponents imagined goal line. After one team accomplishes this the playing filed is reset and after a countdown, action resumes.

The name comes from a game in Afghanistan where dudes on horseback drag a dead goat to a goal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzkashi

SpanKer - Rocket

Rock - Oddball Skull

Flag \/\/hore - Affectionate term for guy that always runs for the flag while the rest of the team is trying to kill or pin down the other team. (ie. he's a good flag wh0re) Exchangeable with flag-b|tch.

Beautiful Needler - Needler

8-Gauge - Shotgun

Make a Hole - Mele-kill an enemy with the flag

Also, this isn't a name exactly but I thought of it because we had to name so many "places" in multi player simply because there is no compass (ie. dark side ledge, camp froman, etc.). Could a compass be added to the radar for H3 please?

I got one we like to play in Halo 1 called "Hogball"

2 on red
2 on blue
1 on the couch as an "official"

Official drives the 'Hog out to the middle of the map in Blood Gulch, Red and Blue set up by the bases. When the official blows the whistle, we all run out to the 'Hog and it's game on!

Relevant map settings are Rockets only and unlimited grenades on. We have to blow the 'Hog over to the opponent's base (goal).

Touching the 'Hog to the base: 1 pt
Dropping the 'Hog on top of the base: 2 pts
Dropping the 'hog *into the hole on top of the base*: 5 pts

Game plays to 10 pts, and delibrately throwing greandes and rockets at the other team is frowned on. =p

Is there any way we can get an "Indestructible vehicles" switch for multiplayer Halo 3?

Great job dickwad. I'm sure you read the entire update in less than a minute after Frankie posted it.

Anyway, good update (I can say this because I actually read it). Halo 3 seems so realistic I might want to just open up a map and savor it's awesomeness.

Oh, and the question about which Marty is the real one is a trick question. Marty cloned himself twice so that he could produce 3x the music he normally can for Halo 3. However, the procedure did not take place perfectly, as seen by the various mid torso discrepancies.

2 people go on blue team, rest on the red (numbers dont matter)

The Blue team use ghosts to run Red over, not allowed to roadkill if on rocks, in tunnels, cliffs etc

Red cant use ghosts, must walk to Blue Base, steal Flag, Return.

What would be perfect for my gametype of DotD (a more advanced version of "Zombies" I used to play with my custom party people) is...

1. Auto-team switch upon death (One-way only!)


2. Specific Team Restrictions (Such as one team can only use and/or pick up certain weapons.)

Who cares, vista is a better looking halo 2, prob. no map editor (talked to a MS tester @ CES) and a few new futures that really have no effect on game play. halo 3 on the other hand we know very little about, so ppl actually want to hear about it, keep the h3 updates coming Frankie, most ppl could care less about h2 vista
Get a job, a 360, and maybe you too will be interested in halo 3.

Quite possibly the greatest update in the history of updates! So much awesome information that I will need a few weeks to fully appreciate what has been said. I am admittedly a graphics whore as well, so hearing about the water/grass effects and how pretty this awesome game will be brightens my days until the next weekly update! My thoughts from between the lines on Halo 3

1) Nothing more anti-climactic than zipping to what’s supposed to be an epic battle against a giant foe, only to realize you skipped rescuing somebody important, and so the foe never appears.

Giant Foe = Gravemind?

2) The really fun thing about “Omnipotence” over “medusa” is the ability to take out vehicles, including Phantoms (and more) with a single pistol shot. Now THAT’S superbadass.

Must mean we can blow up all kind of shizzz. Yeeaaaahhhhhhh, I hope so.

3) And there’s another plasma surprise that relates to Grunt behavior. We’re saving that one, but let’s just say it’s one of the funniest, yet scariest AI behaviors I’ve ever seen.

Probably they throw it back at you if you don't stick it or run at you like a brute so they can try to take you out with themselves. Maybe they use suicicde runs with them. They should have a plasma grenade lauchers. Maybe similar to the bow thing in Gears or War.

4) All I can tell you is that Legendary is going to be a ferocious nightmare, but smoother and less “unfair” than last time around. But seriously, bring your skills.

Maybe you Marines/Covenant pals will actually do something beside run away or hit aliens but take 10 years to kill them.

5) That said, it looks like a lot of the X Button stuff is sorta done, and with any luck, you’ll be pressing X every now and then when you play the public beta.

Must be to open or activate doors and things. Wasn't that is in the other 2. Sorry haven't played in a while.

6) And speaking of wind and weather – one of the new, as yet unrevealed MP levels has blowing ice and clouds billowing through it. And it looks really cold. In fact, it makes Lockout look like Hawaii.

Well there are only 2 places on earth cold like that and isn't arc on earth they said the found on the mountain have the same conditions. If it is on earth that is.

7) I also noticed a considerable change – I would call it a massive improvement – to the Brute Shot. Apart from looking a lot sweeter (both in its 3D model and the effects of its blast) there are some gameplay changes that should make it a real go-to gun in Halo 3. More on that in a future update

I hope it means you can either A) stick the grenades or B0 they blow up on targets or show the shot path like a pool game on the computer does.
