There is a term used when you refer to the ultimate superioity in MP... 25 kills and no deaths no suicides ... some refer to this as perfection ....but a term like "perfect" in context of a game such as this is far from suiting... we must all feel domineered when someone plays a game with such results, or we should feel like gods when destroy our opponents to such a degree. Where I am from, we call this unabashed moment in glory by the name of

Nice update, a lot more info this time .... You know what would be really cool is if in the multiplayer, a player is walking in mud and then once he is back on dry land or a floor you can see the footprints of the olayer from the mud. that would be more realistic and it can give a little edge to the way the halo it played..I don't know maybe its something to think about.

Halo 3 sounds awwwwsome.
*if you don't have this already; if someone dies in water then water should start to become bloody around the guy and down stream.
*Unlimited grenades in multiplayer is a must
*Also for a game type, me and my friends love WARTHOG WARS-It would be cool for this if there was a option to choose to put in more warthogs so that it can match the number of players. Maybe an opotion for no guns at all.
*Explosives that lie around the map need to reappear becuase the explosive get used right away and then there is nothing left to push on people and blow them up.
*It would also be cool if when you walk over grass, what you step on stays scuched down and eventually comes back up to the normal angle.
*Adding onto the campaign it is a must to have four player co-op, in which you can do on one 360 and over live.
*Also for game play it would add to the effects if when you reload you drop your clip and then you have enpty clips lying around on the ground

I dont understand, the armor is super heavy is it not? Then why would a corpse float for a few seconds and not sink like a rock, or in this case, a giant metal suit? It should be the same as a person trying to swim with a ball and chain, or holding a cinderblock (Ive actually tried that before), u just can't float. Or is it because of the small amount of air in the suit? I think i need a crash-course in how the MJOLNIR suits are designed...

On Lockout the BR Tower. The Top is B3 the Middle is B2 and the bottom is B1 the lift is Lift the bottom of that is The Blue Room the bottom of the middle is Under Glass Where the sniper spawns is Snipe 3 The middle is Snipe 2 and the bottom where the carbine spawns is Suicide room or Snipe 1. The connecting walkway between Blue Room and Snipe 1 is the Elbow.

I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed that you can't press X to get a nice drink of refreshing water. But hey, it's Bungie so we know whatever they do will be just as cool, or probably even better. I can't wait to see what the environments look like though, especially the way bodies and weapons interact with the water.

Me and my friends refer everything to where a weapon normally would spawn.
Rockets=Rocks
Sniper=snipe
Shotgun=shotty
Beam Rifle=Covee Spawn
Energy Sword=Sword Spawn

If It is too long to say like battle rifle spawn, we use Architecture

You set up a party
bring the other clan in
select clan match
select team slayer, team snipers, or team skirmish
select team color (Red or blue)
then go into matchmaking where it will configure the game and split the clans into teams

Adding to this:
*Searchable, ranked custom games so the cheaters can cheat/mod outside of matchmaking, or, even better, a cheater mode on matchmaking so the rest of us can play real games. Just something like the party mode, but searchable to people outside the friends lists of the users in the party. Kicks and bans should be in effect in this mode of course.
*A shield based weapon that gets ammo from the user's shield and takes off an equal ammount of the opponent's shield when hit (did that make sense?) Like the plasma pistol but it weakens the user when fired. Since it draws from your own shield you have unlimited ammo and everyone starts with it.
*Hidden maps from H1&H2 (campaign based unlockables, like the skulls of H2) with original weapons of course. Maybe work it into the Xbox Live Market as paid downloads. Halo 1 for Xbox Live would have been the perfect game afterall.
*I played some of the H3 alpha and I am really excited to see a full version. Great work so far guys.

You were asking for game-type names, correct? One I have is "Duck Hunt". Shotguns, no shields, extra damage. I haven't played a custom in so long that I can't remember the rest, but oh well.

"Zombies" is a good game type. Very fun to play.

"Tower of Power" is very cool. Played on Acension. Not sure if that is an actual game tho?

"Hide and Seek" is fun too. Where whoever is "IT" is the Juggernaut and must wait 1 minute while everyone hides on the level. The trick is, The juggernaut does not have radar, and must find and kill everyone else (whom does have radar and is camoflaged) before the one minute marker. Once the 1 minute is up, whoever is left alive, gets to kill the Juggernaut, and the first person who was killed by the Juggernaut becomes the new Juggernaaut in the next game. (Works awesome on Turf and Lockout.) P.S. No superbouncing either.

I like the name "Thug Wars" for melees only games. My friends usually play Thug Wars as a KOTH game on Midship for 5 minutes, but once someone reaches the 1 minute marker to win, Thug wars becomes Death, which means use every and any weapon you can find.

Also if you get Annihilated by the other team for example in Team Snipers, and you tried your very best, my friends have a common saying, "Dude, we just got owned by the Halo Olympic Sniper team."


One more thing, it would be really cool to have a Mixed skirmish game, where one team would have to arm the bomb, while the other team would try to capture the flag. Then when the round is over, the objectives switch.

in games if u duel weild pistols (human) the sayin i have with my friends is pulling a "bruce willis" and we even made a gametype where it's one vs every1 and the person who's on his own team has duel pistols every1 else has smg's and the "bruce willis" has to make it all the way from the bottom of the big middle building on headlong to the top.... one life and no sheilds

I agree that the Spartan Armor is FAR too heavy to float. But then I remember that it closes it's vents in valcume and water envoroments, thus causing a large air pocket. Then the floating makes sence. But then I relaise that the Bullet holes will just ep it sink as well. And then I remember that the suit has a bio foam techincal thing to it that quickly closes small holes. This once again makes the Floating possible. So yes, Floating makes it realistic as long as it doesn't happen in shallow (Beaver Creek) streams. The Speed of the water should also play a large part in this.
With that in mind, the floating animation SHOULD BE different for EACH different Character model. Examples:

Elites- have less heavy armor, thus they float longer
Jackels- Have armore as well, but no more then a human marine has. They float pretty far.
Grunts- They float the longest. They are small, shubby (see arms and legs) and have Large Gas(fluid?) tanks on their backs. This alone counters the water and makes them the lightest of all. But they should always end up face down under the water because the tanks are what makes them.
Brutes- are the heaviest because of their size and armor. But they do have a LOT of fat, so they float, but the armor weighs them down. They should animate a lot like a Spartan does
Hunters- are complicated. They sink like a huge stone because they have no air pokets at all. But over a very short time, the worms should seperate and start floating (like thick blood down the stream. Thus leaving behind empty armor. Apart from the heavy shield, the water current deals with the now hollow armor.
Flood- These guys are basically liguid inside, so they float like a Grunt. However, they are very soft and fall apart with ease. So when they fall down a water fall or float a long distance, their bodies fall apart a turn to goory ooze like that of the Hunters.

All bodies should have blood stream down with the water.

Warthogs: Rocket Hog, and the Shredder (the one with the Machine Gun)
Waith: Waith and Covie Tank
Scorpion: Tank, and Scorp.
Brute Shot: The Brute
Teleporters: Teleport
Plasma Pistol: Noob
Human Pistol: Pistol
Plasma Rifle: Plasma Rifle (The ONLY weapon refured to with it's full name. lol)

SMG: SMG because it's short enough

Practiced for Halo3 We refurred to the SMG as the Spiker (Brute SMG) and the Plasmar Grenade as Spikes (Spike Grenade)

Game Types

Tag: Juggernaut with No weapons and only meleeing with fist to kill. ::In Halo2, turn off weapons and grenades. Only weapon are pistols and start with the Plasma Pistol. Make it an Odd Ball game and use the glitch to drop all the weapon and skull. The juggernaut is announced by the players the "TAG" the new Juggernaut. Great for small maps.
Vehical Tag: Simple Juggernaut game with ALL vehicals turned on except Tanks and no Shields. The Juggernaut is the ONLY one with a Ghost. And the Juggernaut is the ONLY one that can be killed OUTSIDE a vehical. If you kill a Juggernaut from a vehical, then you MUST jump out and run or use a Ghost. Oh! Invisability is Turned Off along with Radar.
Zombies....Well everyone knows about this one.
Battle Royal Created to honor the 1st original film. It's a Slayer game with all vehicals turned off and ALL players Invisable. At least 16 players and large maps a must. Turrents turned on and shields turned off. All weapons are allowed, even Snipes. Absolutly NO SUPER JUMPS!! 30 minutes Time Limit and 3 rounds. Great fun on Terminal but best on the other large maps. Small maps ruin this game setup. Becomes too easy to spot the enemy and kill them. You don't have to be a fan of the movie to play this game, but watching it IS incuraged.
Nascar This is a home made race game since Racing was removed from Halo2. :( Everyone agrees on 3 maps and together they set them up with obsticals. Barrials, vehicals, etc (anthing that can be moved) help form the tracks. this takes time to set up though. When done, two plasers each take a Warthog and set up for the race (players take turns challenging the winner til all have had a turn). The NON-racing players take up possitions along the track to ensure no one cheats (goes off course), while another stands at the finish line. 3 laps deternine the winner. Obsticals that have been bumpped out of place are move back before each race.
Sounds like a lot of work, and it is. But it's lots of fun and something funny/cool always happens durring a race. Not playable on Blood cultch very well because of lack of movab;e objects. Instead, you must use players and un-used vehicals as land marks. It takes less time to set up, but it gets confusing. But EACH un-used vehical needs a player near by to hop in them once in a while. Otherwise they'll blow-up and reset. Ment for Large maps, this can be played on small maps as well. But instead of vehicals, players simply run. Same rules as with Vehicals though.

I have a custom game-type that I like to play w/ friends and family called Underdawg.

It is basically a Juggernaught game-type where the Juggernaught has a Motion Tracker - and no other bonuses. Everyone else has Active Camo and Extra Damage - but no Motion Tracker.

Since you only score points as the "Underdawg", this makes for frantic gaming where the most common phrase heard from the announcer is "New Juggernaught".

Here's some of the custom game types I tend to play:

SWORDS: No weapons on map, only weapon people have is a sword (guess there will need to be swords on the map if playing this game type in Halo 3, as the sword will have an energy/ammo level).

HIDE n SEEK: Everyone is invisible bar the juggernaut, who has to find then kill every other player. Person's hiding are not allowed to kill the juggernaut unless they are the last man standing. Everyone bar the juggernaut has a motion sensor.

ZOMBIES: Everyone is red carrying a shottie n magnum bar the Zombie who has a sword and is green. The zomby is to kill everyone else using only a sword. Once persons are killed by the zomby they become zombies themselves (i.e. they chnage team colour to green and can only use the sword). Last person to get killed becomes the zomby in the next game.

SHOTTIES: Same as swords but with shotguns

ESCAPE: 30/40% of the total number of players are assigned as Snipers and can only kill folks with a sniper. Their mission is to stop the remaining 70/60% from escaping to the designated area of the map. Works best on Zanzibar, snipers are based on the sea wall, the other folks have to escape from the base to the sea without getting sniped - escapees cannot kill the snipers

POWER TOWER: Two equal teams, shotguns only weapon permitted, turret enabled. Team with most kills wins (game normally ends at 100 kills - this is optional howver) so usually the team that holds the turret for the longest is the team to win as you normally get more kills with the turret.

WARTHOG WARS: Everyone has overshields and you can only kill people by splattering them in the warthog - if on foot you can obviously board approaching warthogs. Most kills wins......request to be able to use more than 4 warthogs please!

Here's a couple of terms, including some oldies:

Derby: Co-Op on Silent Cartographer in Halo 1. Get the second warthog and race around the island (I'm sure everyone's done this). The overhanging tower is the finishline.

Demolition Derby: Same as Derby, but instead of racing, it's ramming. Drive at eachother and whomever flips loses. No waiting after a pass, you can turn around and go back at them as soon as possible. Double points if you run them over while they're out of the car.

Clinic: In co-op on H1 or H2, after the battlefield is clear, knock out the teammate if they're low on health. They'll respawn and they get dibs on their old weapons, no stealing their ammo!

Ammo Depot: In co-op, after battlefield is clear, keep knocking out a teammate. After several deaths, grab up all the ammo they dropped after each spawn.

Kamikaze: In co-op, when one player (the worse player) just hides while the other one runs like hell into a blazing firefight on an obvious suicide mission. They die and respawn back to safety, then head back out for another round.

Over-the-header: Running at an enemy with a shotgun. When done right, (because of the fire-rate) you have enough time to get one shot off while running to them to drop their shields. Then jump over them, aiming down and get a spray of headshots to drop them. This is obviously if you're not already close enough to get a 1-hit-wonder.

Explorer: Gametype in multiplayer. Team Deathmatch. Damage resistant and overshields. No team damage. All vehicles. Primary weapon: Rocket. Secondary: Sniper. Basically an easy way to explore multiplayer levels to see where you can get to.

Predator: Juggernaut. Juggernaut has: Invisibility, damage resistant, tracker. Others have: No tracker, overshields. No vehicles. No turrets. Pri Weapon: BR. Secondary: Rocket. Now all you have to do is go Schwarzenegger on the predator.

Some are probably pretty popular names for these things, but these are what my friends and I came up with in our years of playing. We have plenty others, but I'm either forgetting them or they are pretty standard ("stickies", "that-dumb-grunt-that-takes-the-sticky-back-to-his-frien ds", etc.).
