...And so the hero crawled through the fissure on the surface of Tyr. There, the lone Dwarf stared into the cold, dark eyes of Soulblighter...The fiend hefted his blade over his shoulder as a flock of raven took upon his form...

Hmmm sounds interesting, though I'm not quite sure how it would benefit us.

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

Not a useful option except for viewing who's online.

People move too quickly through these generic forums.

Maybe after teh new hawtness, if the server doesn't find a cool topic, it locks it mb?

Explain what you mean by " cool topic. " If the server just closes topics that do not have many posts or on top of the topics lists, or if the topic is on other pages it would make this feature useless. Some topics come back after a couple days with a new post to spark the conversation or share ideas on it, but with if the server closes them there would not be many topics to talk in.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

Maybe that. But otherwise, I'm generally not in favor of stalking tools.

Say I go to a moderator that's online or anybody that's online on Bugnie.net. I want to see if he's just sitting there or something. It could say Idle, Viewing the Septagon Forum, Reading News. Viewing Stats. etc..

That would be cool huh?

Discuss.

Stalker! Nah, just kidding. It would be cool, I just don't think it would benifit in any way.

I don't get why people are say this all the time. Do people honestly think there's a secret group of people who plan the next giant spam attack? Trying to figure out when certain people are where/online/offline just so they can have that 10 minutes of semi-popularity. I highly doubt it.

Exactly. I hate how everyone in the Septegon has a negative view on every new feature suggested. People aren't as evil as you think they are >_>

I don't know if it's a group but, yes; they do get together and decide when to spam. It hasn't happened lately, but it has happened before.

Exactly. I hate how everyone in the Septegon has a negative view on every new feature suggested. People aren't as evil as you think they are >_>

I personally appreciate how the regulars in The Septagon subject potential improvements and ideas to harsh review and scrutiny. By putting any and all ideas through a crucible, many of the potential downsides are discovered and highlighted. It forces the idea to evolve and improve in order to address those critiques.

Because I wouldn't want this site to be "feature laden" simply for the sake of having features. I like the idea that anything added is there because it has been considered, critiqued, revised, and altered to best survive the rigors of real world use. Not added simply because "it could be done" with no thought to the potential outcome.

I am of the opinion that no matter how harsh criticisms are here, they will pale and even miss abuses that would pop up when a feature is released to the public. Especially if that feature were not reviewed and critically evaluated.

Anyone submitting an idea would be well advised to leave their ego at the door and not have any personal feelings invested in their suggestion.

I agree. I enjoy the intelligent analysis of different ideas. It also helps me understand why certain rules or features exist.
