Exactly. I hate how everyone in the Septegon has a negative view on every new feature suggested. People aren't as evil as you think they are >_>
I personally appreciate how the regulars in The Septagon subject potential improvements and ideas to harsh review and scrutiny. By putting any and all ideas through a crucible, many of the potential downsides are discovered and highlighted. It forces the idea to evolve and improve in order to address those critiques.
Because I wouldn't want this site to be "feature laden" simply for the sake of having features. I like the idea that anything added is there because it has been considered, critiqued, revised, and altered to best survive the rigors of real world use. Not added simply because "it could be done" with no thought to the potential outcome.
I am of the opinion that no matter how harsh criticisms are here, they will pale and even miss abuses that would pop up when a feature is released to the public. Especially if that feature were not reviewed and critically evaluated.
Anyone submitting an idea would be well advised to leave their ego at the door and not have any personal feelings invested in their suggestion.
I agree. I enjoy the intelligent analysis of different ideas. It also helps me understand why certain rules or features exist.
