Hired Gun is posting regular blog updates over at IGN with some cool information. The latest offers some looks at achievements in the game, which is sounding quite nice. There's a front page story on Bungie.net pointing to that update.

There is no conspiracy at work here and no anti-Maw agenda taking place. Reality is that Halo 2 Vista is being developed by Hired Gun (a small MGS team), in a completely different building that's actually in a totally different city (albeit not terribly far) but the point is that we don't have a lot of first hand info or access these days.

The Bungie team is hard at work on Halo 3, Hired Gun is hard at work on Halo 2 Vista, and both projects are progressing well.

From the sounds of it, they had a good showing at the recent Game Developers Conference and there's even a video on YouTube of Hired Gun lead producer Jo Clowes demonstrating some of the functionality of the map editing tools. So, there's quite a bit of information out there, it's just not exactly our first hand news to share.

OK to summarize you guys aren't going to be getting any info that we aren't going to see somewhere else first so don't expect Halo2Vista info too much. Which is fine now that we know not to expect it here we will look for other sources of information.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know.

Stand down MAW. The raid has acheived its goal. Thank you to all who participated.

I appreciate that, sketch - you've given us info in the past and I see where you're coming from. I guess what makes this situation worse than what you've pointed out is that the information on H2V isn't organized in a traditional way - like it is here.

We understand you guys are busy, and we understand you're not doing the port. But, understand where we're coming from too - Gearbox messed some things up last time, and lots of folks are concerned that we may get stuck again in the same boat. And just like HPC -we're getting the 'We didn't develop that game line'.

I know it can't be helped, but that's our seat at the game.

You actually do have to lead when the game gets very laggy. Since you're in the UK, I think you'll be happy warping around Lockout leading by three feet.

Wait...exactly WHERE is the thread (raid) in the Septagon. I had to go before the raid happened last night, so I don't know what happened. I don't see any raid threads besides Walmart's.

Whoopsiez... It's 10:20 central Saturday Morning and I just posted a scathing attack in the thread... Sorriez about that.

By the way, are the dates at the top of posts in Eastern, or what?

Edit: Yup, Eastern = -2 from Central.

Thanks scketch, I feel beter now.

BTW, here is IGN's H2V section. There are some good updates, and the newer screenshots look cool. The graphics still look unfinished, but they are already looking beter then the Xbox version. The geomatry is looking good.

General Igg, status report sir!?

Ya, this is going well. Use big words so the idiotic Halo 3 junkies have no idea what your saying. Like vitubrius, or reconsile. It's fun confusing them =)

Well the CMT guys can try to get their contacts in Hired gun to press Frankie but not sure how much effect that is going to have.

The "contact" your referring to, doesn't even like most of the CMT members...

Bungie is working on Halo3. Hired Gun is working on H2V. Its Bungie Weekly Update, not Hired Bungie Gun Weekly Update Wars.

Perhaps Bungie is too busy getting Halo3 to be super scrumdidilyumptious to be ramming their nose into Hired Gun and Ensemble Studio's face about whats up. Thats what they have Microsoft Suites for.

Complain to Hired Gun if you must, let Bungie finish Halo3 in peace (yeah...right).

Your theory works...yet 4 months is bull -blam!-. They have no excuse for almost 4 months no news. If this was maybe 3-4 weeks no news I would understand that they are more conserned with H3, but 4 months no news is unacceptable. Perhaps you should try to understand the situation form out side. Imagen 4 months no Halo 3 news and you would get the same idea of what we are going through right now.

STFU

Its not like the Army disallows their soldier's internet access ;p

I don't particularly go around boasting about what I've done, but yes, that is what most people would say.

Yes there is. They're not the ones making H2V, they're making Halo3. Perhaps you should think about Microsoft's position in these sort of things, they still own them after all.
Imagine, some big 'ol MS exec calling over (well, maybe they made a visit since Bungie is just so cool) saying "hey, you want all the time you need to create Halo3, then your focus will be on Halo3, we'll take care of all these other things".

I can deal with no news about anything Halo for 4 months. Hell, I did that exact same thing when I joined the Army. After all the waiting for Halo2, HaloCE and now for Halo3, not having a weekly update with some Halo3 news doesn't really phase me.
I want H2V just as much as the next guy, but I respect Bungie and Co's decisions, because I know it will be done, when its done. And when its done, I'll have another distraction for myself for at least another 3 years, just like HaloPC\CE.

Perhaps you should stop talking, and listen. Take your own advice and 'STFU'.

Neither geometry nor textures have been changed. H2PC is a half baked port really it'd seem.

Oh, Kornman00, check your Gearbox forum PM box if you haven't already please.
