To be honest there is no reason that I should even continue this discussion, because it is simply obvious that I am right.

Says it all. If ever you wanted proof hes up his own rectum, there it is.

But yes, I agree. Its rather odd theres no annoucement on this site (havent seen one yet anyway).

Its trivial, but you cant help but think it reinforces the feeling bungie dont give a monkeys about Halo2 PC.

Every post you make is an insult, shows how little of an arguement you have. Simple.

*Shrugs*

Its my personal opinon of you (one which a few think the same, due to boasting on the forums). I cant stand people whom boast, I really cant. Its this air of supereriority as well. Just gets my goat I suppose.

When you give comments like: "To be honest there is no reason that I should even continue this discussion, because it is simply obvious that I am right."

It makes you look like your heads so far up there, your teeth are in your peripheral vision.

Can you not see that?

The argument has been well put by Frankbns and Synthmilk, so I see no need to repeat what they have said. They have gone over it well, you disagree with us three, and we disagree with you. Not a lot more to say.

So lets stop diverting the thread now.

Bit late to the party here..... but Nessy, are you actually saying you and the rest of the KW guys actually *want* HPC netcode in H2V?

Tha'tll be the Halo PC netcode that was neutered by MS at the last minute with a massively reduced update rate to allow 56kers to play on it?

The same netcode that induces front side lead due to the inherent latency of a serverside netcode and uses hit prediction to compensate which is geared to favour a higher latency connection?

The same netcode that causes warping when client and server get out of sync (regularly) due to it's necessary kludged use of predictive algorithms to compensate for it's horribly borked update frequency?

You know there's a simple answer for you pr0's don't you?
Play Halo PC or CE.

I think the rest of us nubbs would prefer to aim at someone who has a vague chance of being where they actually appear on our screens.

Okay, that is the opinion of you adn 2 others, but then again the thread has like 40 people on my side. There you go. Also, I find it funny that you call me a retard, when it is more of a fact that you are one since you think that high ping is a good thing...

Oh, and btw, yes I will still play halo PC, you can go and play h2v. When halo 2 came out on the xbox, I still stuck to halo 1.

Nothing to do with netcode there, I simply prefer games that actually take skill.

3 actually. And as the others have patiently explained, that poll question is way off.

And I never ever said high ping was good. Care to point to that?

And like X0TeD said, the netcode hit prediction favours the high ping making it easier for them. As for games that take more skill, as I'm not elitist I prefer games that are more *fun*, it is a *game* after all.

And I find skillful games fun.

Also, if you care to read lpjuunin's post, you would find it is actually 50-2 in my favour.

Also, you lead the same distance on a low ping player as a high ping player...

Never argue with an idiot. Famous quote from I dont know who. Applies in this case, so I think I'll bow out now.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Thanks.

Just to clarify, my main point was that the despite the best efforts of Gearbox to even get it done in the time frame they had, the HPC code is a kludge at best both for commercial and technical reasons. With H2V there is no logical reasoning that anyone can give for making the same mistakes again.

Isnt it great?

for the record- IMHO The Netcode on Halo blows, but you get used to it. there is also virtually no difference between 33 and 166 ping players from my experience. anything higher, though, and you see visible change.
thank you- and i feel glad that i contributed to an offtopic discussion!

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I can virtually guarantee better netcode for H2V due to the fact that Live can't run on dialup.

  • 03.16.2007 4:05 PM PDT

What it is.

I just dont see why they cant even mention Halo 2 Vista...like just put those words at the bottom and maybe i'll be satisfied...this is ridiculous...

Well the I just read the Update for this week (3/16). I think we all have to come to the realization that "George Bush doesn't like black people." But seriously, though highly unlikely, maybe they aren't posting H2V info in spite of the fact that we keep whining about it :)

Hopefully they won't take the Halo 2 Vista info page off the new site, but that's something we cannot control. This would all be a lot better if Hired Gun had a friggin web page. I have to say, though, that I was very surprised (and I don't think I'm alone here) that Frankie did not even mention the H2V release date, which I though was a pretty important piece of info.

Cheers.
