its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

Everyone start mass PM-ing. We need to raise that percentage.

Lets not. Random PM spam is not a good thing.

Say that when groups are gone.

If the only thing maintaining the group systen is random PM spam, then i'll gladly see it die.

If you want to be a part of one of the greatest and most active communities in the seventh column, come here. You will thank me later.

A lot of people create groups just for the sake of doing so... and never do anything with them.

Well, what I'm looking for is some resource to search out active groups that people can use to find good groups to join...
Maybe list groups with number of members and maybe number of unique forum posters in the last month....

1. While a lot of groups have been created, most of them are abandoned fairly quickly. There are currently just under 7,000 active groups, the rest have been deleted for inactivity.
2. Less than 600.
3. Hard to say.

Another interesting statistic is that of all the active users on bungie.net, only about 6% of them are a member of a group. Hence, that's why groups are being shut off for a while we figure out how to make them more attractive and have purpose. Right now, the number of people who use them doesn't justify the time spent either maintaining them or developing new things for them. We're not ready to give up on them just yet, though.

I was just wondering about the groups on Bungie.net. I was wondering
1) How many groups are there?
2) How many have more than, say, 25 members?
3) How many of those groups of 25+ members have been active (forum posts/announcements) recently?

It just seems that when browsing groups or searching for groups I see a lot that either have moved to an external site or just plain don't get used.

Those are some depressing statistics.

I do believe they said 1061. You know, the most ultimate page in the history of ultimate pages.

I can tell you what you're doing wrong. You're wearing pants.

What ever happened to that "Site Statistics" thing that lasted like three hours? That was fun.

Largest Groups:

Group Name --------Member Count

Mjolnir Battle Tactics----------2125

The Marty Army ----------1659

Popular Fusion ----------1602

Prominent Communiqué ----------1312

It's worth pointing out that GiA (Games in Action) is no longer active at all. We left the group for out own site ages ago, but yet no one seems to have left the group.

There are a lot of active groups. It just takes trial and error to find them.

I have one that is active but not as active as I would like it to be. I am working on geting rid of inactive members and getting more active members. But I have no idea really how to run one I didn't start it I am just one of the top peopel in it. But it's really hard to keep people coming in and keeping it going if noone else in my group helps me out. But all the groups that I am in are active.

I pretty much come to bungie.net primarily for groups. The main forums are too cluttered for my taste.

I like the private groups, but I feel the need to do something different. I am moving my content to a blog (my group was basically news with a little discussion anyway). Then I'm going to boot all the members that have not even logged in to b.net this year. That will make my group smaller, but oh well. THEN I'm going to try to converge my membership with a larger, more acvtive, but not huge group. Hopefully that will give some more meaning to the Groups and community and staying out of the main forums when I feel like avoiding the brainless chatter.

Yeah, group invites are like spam to me. It's not something that is fun or entertaining. It would be cool if there was a leader of the group based on his rank on x box live. Something that makes a group competitive.

If the best Halo players had groups people would join them. I hope this isn't already the way it is, but if it isn't, then it's an idea. I canceled my x box live account because of so much cheating on x box live (A major hassle).

If Halo 3 is really fun playing with friends, then I will buy x box live again, and join a group.
