There is a major problem with the technology. You could have someone abuse in an attempt to look good. Like get a friend to spam, then report it themselves. Also people would be annoying the moderators. As for the thought that it would aid spammers. The program to see if they are on already exists. It was said by the starter of this thread. So a spammer already knows then they are on. I think it would probably just be big hassle on the moderators to have everyone constantly pmming them. Idk it is a good idea though.

Hehehe, you just described me a few months back when I didn't have MSN. The mods, from what they told me, do not mind all that much as long as you get straight to the point, link the thread, and say why you believe it is a problem thread. And try to not make very much small talk.

Are people still throwing around the lame "spammers are going to know when the mods are offline and use it to their advantage" excuse? We already have a mod tracker and to my knowledge, nothing of that nature has happened.
I swear, people make excuses for every knew feature suggested.
Have you seen the forums lately? Just last month it seemed like the forums were filled with spam. And for quite some time, the spammers stayed, and continued to spam the threads. Luckily however, a moderator; evilcam or Prophet if I am not mistaken, logged on just before it got bad. Then it happened again the next day. Besides that, most people have not idea about the Mod Stalker.

what is the hawtness
It is an overhaul of the site, basically ripping it apart and putting it back together making it look very cool. It looks hot, which is how the name,"The New Hawtness" game to be.
Now, I see both pro's and con's of this feature. In one sense I like it, in another sense I do not. I like it mainly because it is encouraging members to be helpful. However, it is bad for people that would abuse it. And yes Commander Santa, a blacklist would help. But what exactly would happen if thousands of people were to abuse it. Reporting a thread just because someone disagreed with them.
I do have an improvement to this plan that I have not read yet. I believe that many this feature should be automated. Not to see which mod is online, but to just send one private message to each moderator. Explanation, link, and the member that submitted the thread. It may look something like this:
Member: Commander Santa
Problem: A thread with spam.
Link to thread: Here.
or maybe even over a private message.
Member: M3 Roki7
Problem: Private message abuse.
Problem Member: Commander Santa
Private Message: You am noob.
This would work based off the private message being taken right from the private messaged received so that no interference with the message can be produced. Mainly just so someone cannot get the moderators to ban someone without a true problem.
That is my opinion anyway. As is said, just like any plan, this plan has it's pro's and con's. In my opinion, the pro's just barely out weigh the con's. I like it, If however someone were to abuse this tool, they should get the ability to report threads taken away.
