I am responsible for dividing the Covenant. I shall end this war.

Size issues

Bungie probably had issues when deciding the size of the POA. In the first level, the FALL OF REACH claims the ship to be about 1.2 kilometers long. But in the last level, when MC caused a wildcat destabilization, he rode the entire, or almost entire, length of the ship.

2.1 km (to false checkpoint) +1.5 km (distance to bow from checkpoint) = 3.6 kilometers, which, since you went in an almost-straight-line, makes the POA 3 times longer than it should.

I am...whimsical today.

The extent of the divergence of the inside of the PoA and the dimensions of the ship have been illustrated with a rather nice diagram found somewhere on HBO. Unfortunately I have yet to learn how to access the wealth of information stored there from the front page :)

I found it on Halopedia :)

That was the Pillar of Autumn?

I thought the last part of the Maw was outside.

Really, but what about the fake checkpoint. When you look down there's no ground. Unless you were riding two different objects with a bridge connecting them.

the point is that it was the last level of the game, it had to be challenging and therefore they had to make it longer, in doing so making the ship longer then it was

Wait....Here's a little question.

If POA was a space ship, Why were there open areas in an area where people/vehicles would be in. Look where Foehammer comes to pick you up, Why the hell is there a huge ass gap? I mean.....They do know space+people-NoO2=Death

They have air-tight doors?

The ship was mightily screwed over when it crashed, and remember the Flood had been busy repairing it.

To play or not to play....

Apparently the Pilar of Autumn is 1.17km long . However you have some good points. MY guess is all of that extra stuff is just to make the game harder.

The gaps are fine by me as you could have sections of the ship seperated by narrower sections and so on. However looking at the Pillar of Autumn from outside (during various cinematices) I can not see any gaps. I see a rather flat like back section the only bit that really looks different is the front. However you do not drive there in the level you mentioned.

The path you took in the Warthog is slightly curved. Just enough so that your mind will automatically compensate the steering for it, and just little enough that you don't notice. Similar to the "circular universe theory".

I wish I owned the Pillar of Automn

I change my mind I think that since Foehammer died at the checkpoint. Master Chief is forced to turn around and head back to the hangar where the Longsword was.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

since driving through the last level of the game didn't take you in a straight line, it actuall turned you, and brought you up and down levels, it's understandable that while the ship itself may only be about 1.2km in length, it would contain corridors and passages amounting to far beyond that distance.
