How much VRAM is needed to have maximum performance on Halo PC without it bogging down at all? On what I have it bogs down when there are a lot of characters onscreen. I have 345 MB VRAM.

There is no specific amount, post your comp specs and I will tell you what you need to do.

I just posted my VRAM(video memory) which is 345 MB. That is the only part that controls performance.

If you think that the clock speeds of your GPU don't "control your performance", then you are severely lacking knowledge about the way applications on a computer work.

So if you'd stop being an arrogant ass about it, maybe we'll help you out.

Is the GPU my processor?

No, your processor is your CPU.

VRAM is the least important. the number of pipelines and clock speed are much more important with the architecture the most important.

No, your processor is your CPU.

How do I find out my clock speeds? Here are my specs BTW.
Operating System: Windows Vista
Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+, ~1.6 GHz
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 6200, 345 MB VRAM
Sound Card: RealTek AC97 Audio
RAM: 704 MB
DirectX Version: 9.0c
Net Speed: 108 Mbps

Those are all I can find.

What version of Vista, and do you have Aero on? Turning it off may help performance, but what would I know, I'm only an XP/RC1 user.

Vista should turn off aero when you are in game so it shouldnt matter.

Oh, alright.

And what I meant with which Vista OS, I meant Home Premium, Business, Ultimate?
Because I read somewhere (so don't quote me on this) that games run best with ultimate, but it all depends on the hardware, right?
