Well in Halo 1 the big ones that jump really far are infected elites and the smaller ones are marines.

The basic flood are the infection forms, or the little popcorn asses Which is what the flood species is. Now the others are the combat forms (infected elite or human) and then theres the exploding forms which can be either human or elite but have evoled and spawned more infection forms inside it.

You can actually see the twisted marine's head if you look carefully enough... The Elite thing has the head all the way back I think... Too lazy to look it up now.

I think I heard somewhere those were Grunts. Could also be Elites or Marines with kneecaps removed...

The Flood Carrier Form is an evolution of a Flood Combat Form that has become too badly damaged to be effective in battle.

When you look at a dead elite flood on the ground you can see the head flopped over. You can also blow their limbs off one by one , which is entertaining :)

That is one way to make a Carrier. If a flood gathers several Grunts and/or Jackals, it can make 1 Carrier, since Grunts/Jackals don't have the structural integrity to allow for the superhuman strength the Flood Combat forms receive.

And I can't believe so many people didn't know which Flood Forms were Marines and which were Elites. I mean, come on, the human Flood have Marine green pants on. And the Elites have bent over necks and you can still see their five-jawed head.

No they dont! Flood Carries legs are straight, and Grunts legs are, well they look like Grunts legs. Nothing alike about them.

I understand that, but I think I read somewhere that Jackals were involved.

And if I'm wrong, which there is a large possibility of, what happens to the Jackals that are infected?
