I can't believe that in 10 pages of comments no one bothered to ask whether or not there will be 4-player splitscreen or whether or not we'll be able to play side by side on widescreen tvs.
These two things are very important to me, esp since Gears blew it on both accounts.
i think that it was answered in the actual topic. he said he got alot of e-mails about ppl wanting to hurt him about there being no splitscreen multiplayer. he then said that it would be there since it is a mainstay of halo. if u got back to the topic, read under where it says splitsvilee. he says "There are several tiers of this multiplayer mode. At its simplest level, it’s a couple of siblings running around on Lockout with swords. But at its most convoluted, it’s a LAN party where adding TVs keeps blowing out the power (we say this from personal experience) and splitscreen at that point, is a godsend.
We’ll still have the same online matchmaking restrictions – not being able to play splitscreen in certain types of ranked games, for example - but otherwise expect full feature parity with Halo 2 in that regard – with some improvements based on resolution and evolution (including improvements to the HUD.) to make the game easier to see in those modes."
from that, it seems the multiplayer will be pretty similar to halo2, at least at this point. hopefully one thing will be brought back from the original halo title. the one thing i really missed was being able to go and actually choose the game you wanted to play.
1. it allowed you to find friends without having to be in a party all of the time.
2.if ppl on your team quit, more people can come in to take their place. that way you won't have one team where half of the ppl quit 2 minutes in and now you have a severe handicap.
3. you can see matches that already have ppl in it instead of sitting in the matchfinder for who knows how long.
i think it is just a better feature to have. anyway, i think this post is long enough, so i'll end it now.
