Can i ask why if -blam!- and -blam!- are censored why -blam!- is not? Where im from its seen as the strongest of the swear words. S**t is nothing while they let -blam!- get past. Very strange indeed.

twat
This also gets passed. Hmm odd priorities.

BTW im not bothered. Im quite liberal about swearing. Dont give an actual toss, just interested on what decsion process decides the language that is censored.

I dont actually understand your reply ctber300. I am actually quite mature, and i am adult about swearing (except when i play halo with friends but thats all as a jest). I just found it odd that the 's' word is banned but not the -blam!- or twat and wanker. They seem worse than the 's' word in my opinion. As i said i dont actually care, but was just interested, especially as i have gained the impression that bad language is even more frowned apon than in Britain, where its bad enough. Every other european nation can handle swearing but not us brits, no of course not.

God that was a struggle to get my meaning across with out getting blam stuck everywhere. Ireally hate using 'the ... word' to get show what swear word i mean.

in game play, Yes I also swear but in day to day life I try not to swear and when it comes to posting I use **** in swearing. One time I use other words instead of swearing and my niece said to her friend he trying not to swear but he really not so good at it.

Actually its my dad's surname, but hey. No problem with the mom thing. I can take a joke. I have used such things myself, though being british i would say "your mum", or if i put on a schemy voice "yer ma".

I dont sewar that frequently (at least compared to some people) and only as a joke or in a way noone could take offense (i hope). I have no problem with people swearing myself. And i dont understand why films with swear words are uprated for that alon, as by the time anybody is 12 they have heard and used most of the swear words, and hearing it in a film isnt going to affect that.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Bungie is based in the U.S., and over here no one would call someone a wanker if they wanted to insult them. It's not an insult over here. Heck, it's not even known over here.

I decided that I swear too much online, so I'm trying to teach myself to say "Cheese-its!" instead.

I dont have a problem with the language filters. I was just interested in how the words were chosen. I guessed the thing about wanker being british and bungie being American. I was just testing to see if iwas blocked.

I think theres too much stress taken about swearing. I swear sometimes, and as long as someone isnt actually insulting to someone i dont care how strong the language they use. If some one says "what the f...." or "it was f...ing huge" and that sorta stuff, or if it is a joke, i see no problem. There is no problem with swearing unless it is used in a hurtful manner. In fact i think everybody should continiuosly use all the strongest swear words in their conversations until people learn to calm down about it. Parents shouldnt try to 'protect' their kids from swearing. That just encourages them, and they'll have learnt all the words by the age of 12, and probably frequently using them. We should allow U films to have swearing, as then it wont be seen as naughty, and therefore (to the immature minds of yuonger kids) there would not be the coolness factor there is associated with it with younger age groups.
i.e.
Swearing doesnt matter.
restrictive parents (unlike my own) need to get a grip

Hmm.... what a pointless rant i have just posted

Hmmm, either someone has just filled your moniter full of lead, or theres too much swearing for it. Its probably the auto-censoring device on the computer. You know, the one that explodes if you are caught in the sinful act of swearing.

I don't see why swearing is such a big deal, anyways. Everyone labels these words as "Bad Words". But nobody really knows WHY they're so BAD.

I have to agree. Look at my post for sugggestions for dealing with this hang up about certain words (such as allow swearing in U films).

BTW I read in a newspaper here in Britain that some tv networks didnt show saving private ryan due to bad language. It sounds like that it was going to be shown at prime-time but some regulater said "put it back to after ten due to the bad language". WTF I agree it shouldnt be shown at prime time myself, but not due to swearing. The strong violence and gore would be unsuitable and disturbing for younger viewers (i dont think it would turn them into murderers though, unlike some really stupid pressure groups). The violence in the film is an issue, but not the language. Let young kids here swearing, just dont disturb them with graphically violent images. Really strange priorities i think.
