Yeah. Here it is.
May I first say that I am in no way saying that Bungie's web team is bad at what they do. Just the opposite, they're awesome, in my opinion. I'm simply posting this to show what I think would be a more improved Bungie.net homepage.
Now, if you'll kindly look at the image, you'll notice that it's very similar to the new hawtness screenshot posted in the weekly update this morning. That's because the new design is a very good thing. It could simply use a bit of tweaking.
The major things are the same between my concept and the real one, a three column layout, one for news posts, one for community/partnerships and one for job postings, with a navbar and logo at the top. This is an effective layout. However, I tweaked the actual feel of the layout. I increased the width of the news column (and, accordingly, decreased that of the other two), and removed the "space-waster" image of Master Chief, allowing for more content to be in it's place. I also added a "My Groups" link to the "member card" in the top bar. I made many other more minor tweaks, moving links around and whatnot. This layout is still effective for those on a screen resolution of even 800x600 (in that resolution, there would be no bars on the sides and the site would be the entire screen).
So, what do you guys think? Again, the new website will be incredible, no doubt. I'm simply posting this concept to show what I feel would be some tweaks to make it more effective.
Added a higher-quality image, the other one was washed out due to JPEG compression and gave a slightly false sense of the coloration.
