Just have to say this. Why did you think it was coming out for pc. It was clearly coming out for x box at the moment. It may come out for pc sometime in the future, but it was clearly stated that it was coming out for xbox not pc.

Halo 2 is XBox exclusive until at least late 2005. Sorry bud -- But it'll be cheaper for you to buy an XBox and Halo 2 than Buy the graphics card you would need to run it.

Ach! Was ist los?

Graphics cards, CPUs, hard drives... hell, motherboards even. Last one to the core is an unarmed BOB!

--Sgt. Smith notes that the XBox is technically a computer, therefore Halo 2 is available on computers...

I don't think Bungie should port over Halo 2 to the PC.

1. Bungie released the PC version of the first Halo a little too much down the road, so PC gamers were unimpressed with it since the newer titles of that time did was Halo was doing but only better.

2. Aside from some new weapons and MP maps, the game was pretty much a straight port with some more polished graphics. Aside from this, the game was very buggy and unstable, both in SP and MP, even on the best of systems.

3. If Bungie was to bring Halo 2 to the PC, they would have to do it sooner down the road and make it where the game is just as stable as the Xbox version with some extra's to give PC gamers an incentive to buy.

IMO, if you really want to play Halo 2, just fork over the cash for an Xbox. It's worth it.

definitly fork over the cash, and then, on top of getting halo 2, get the first and see how much better it is on xbox than pc

So.. that is why there is not really a need for halo2 pc yet... until the time comes they cant force people to buy a xbox, get a xboxlive gamerstag... or get their buts over to their friend to play it... but that they buyed to many snacks and drinks and to less time put in another game and they just need money: the develop halo 2 pc... but dont forget: Halo 2 cant reall y be cheated now... on the pc that is more likely and there are people having trouble with lag... i dont really want to hover into the air if im pursuing someing with a energy sword...

Two big reasons are:

1. The Mac's structure is much different than an Xbox/PC, so if ported to the Mac, it would take a long time to rework the code and engine.

2. Gamer's on the Mac are next to none, so the sales would have probably been terrible.

wow, this is dumb. After all its publicity for the Xbox, you still thought it was coming out on PC?! C'mon. It showed only the Xbox icon at the end of the commercials... not the pc icon.

 • 11.11.2004 1:04 PM PDT

Ach! Was ist los?

*Cough.* Power Mac G5. *Cough.*

And the Mac version of Halo runs better than the PC version of Halo.

You have no idea how little that means to the average person.

That's because the Mac's basically a console. PC developers have to worry about a shedload of stuff, thanks to the open nature of the hardware.

Well I have the 1st Halo standing on the harddrive of my PC along with Windows XP Pro and it works fine, it's an awesome game with cool graphics, the multiplayer mode is so much fun, the only problem was that it crashed because some other players seriously LAG which causes the game to slow down or get jammed up what forces the players with the better PC configurations to push the reset button. I still think Halo 2 should be brought out on PC cause the VAT on the game sets the price at 70 to 75 Euro's, besides unlike PS2 games the price doesn't go any lower over time and the disadvantage about the 1st Halo was that was a bit on the short side. About the system requirements well for Halo 1 it was ok, they weren't that high at all.

You do realise how much strain Halo 2 puts on the XBOX? I mean, sometimes you actually see the models building up layer by layer because the game is so big and requires so much power. You really would need a top PC, and to get one powerful enough would cost you thousands. Maybe in a couple of years, when you can get more powerful PCs for less, Bungie will bring out H2 for PC. But until then, it'll be just for the XBOX - the only thing powerful enough to take it.

XBOX SPEC'S
CPU: 733 MHz chip crafted by Intel
Graphics Processor: 250MHz custom chip named XGPU, developed by Microsoft and nVIDIA
Total Memory: The RAM in the Xbox will be supplied by Micron, it will be 64 MB running at 200MHz DDR (Double-Data-Rate)

Seems like a low end system to me...

Yep -- my own PC is superior to that -- but due to all the processes PCs have to do, there is no way they can take games as smoothly.

Yeah, even though PC's specs are way superior to the XBOX's, all the XBOX has to do is play games, PCs play games, use internet, and many many other things as well. All in all, PC's are just too far spread out to have that much of a chunk in one area right now. Maybe when they get way better, they'll be able to handle it.
