Can anyone provide a list of the current DirectX 10 cards (with the price) that will support it upon release?

Wait until the 8600 and 8300 are out, the 8600 will be fine for most things.

Currently the only DX10 card out is the 8800 from nVidia. Within a month, nVidia should be releasing more cards on the G80 architecture such as the 8600. Shortly after that, AMD will be releasing the X2900, X2600, and X2400.

Sooo, I know they're not out yet, but do you guys think an 8600 Ultra will run better than my 7900 GS?

Does anyone know the time table on the release of the next 8000 series card? I'm going to be upgrading my GPU soon but don't want to wait until summer.

so theyre not even calling them ATII anymore, just amd? wow, thats depressed. I'd still leave the ATI name on there as a semi-seperate sect just for brand name strength.

Yes, they're still called ATI. AMD is the one marketing the cards though. You'd see them out know, but AMD realized they'd get anally raped by nVidia since they'd allready have an eye on the competition. Might make a few people sad, but at least they'll be better stocked than nVidia cards and have a better price/preformance margin.

OK sorry didn't catch that. I don't figure H2V to be out until end of April so maybe I will get one. Any idea on the price range?

oo oo oo *raises hand

x2900xtx comes out in very late march. it has twice the transistors as the x1900xtx, a gigabyte of memory, and vapor cooling stock. expect the clocks in a couple days.

*sits back and grins at his awesome knowledge.*

-Nvidia-

Geforce 8000 series

8800 gtx 768 mb is ~550 USD
8800 gts 640 mb is 400 USD
8800 gts 320 mb is 300 USD (My fav, who needs all that memory anyway?)

-ATI- (or AMD as the godly zeph puts it)

Radeon x2000 series (unannounced models)

ATI has yet to release its dx10 compatible cards yet, but the r600 architecture will be due out in the form of the x2000 series sometime this year I believe.

Dual core 6300 1.6ghz
2gb ram
2-7950GT's Video cards In Sli mode

is this good to run H2V?

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

That should be plenty, the main thing with Vista is ram and the video card, you have good ram and good vids, so you should be fine.
