HG is most likely in the final stages of debugging and playtesting. It seems logical that most game developers would only confirm a release date when they were pretty much done with the game.

Unless it was the developers boss that made a release date.

In that case, it's usually changed later on in the development cycle. Due to the fact that bosses never account for delays/changes.

Bosses are stupid that way.

The same think happened with Bungie and the original Halo 2. They were rushed by Microsoft, and that's why it sucks hardcore right now.

YEY ! Let's celebrate ! Lmao joking.

Im problably playing like 2 weeks - 1 month with Silver then maybe buying Gold for three months. Will the Live Gold be able to buy in stores like with H2V or just Live Gold [time] , or only like in internet shops or something ?

Here is something I picked up on one of the 100's of news peices about this.

"Cross-platform gaming is not possible with Halo 2, since it is not an original Xbox 360 title."

So logic dictates that Halo3 will be cross-platform.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Some Live Anywhere games (like Shadowrun) do support cross platform play. The press release is saying that for those that support it, a Gold Live account is required.

Halo 2 for Windows Vista does not support cross platform play, so that particular benefit of Gold Live accounts does not apply. One point to make clear - the Gold Live account for Live Anywhere is the same as your Xbox Live account. That is to say, if you already have a subscription to Xbox Live, you don't need to pay extra for a Gold Account for a PC game: it is all the same service.

Where are people getting this cross platform thing from, lots of people have been saying this to me?

So what is it, cross platform or not?

Im assuming not, because I cant see how it would work (autoaim on xbox for one).

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

Ah, the Gold Text of Tru7h, I wonder how many people will not read it and still ask if there will be cross-platform play?

Good to know for xbox Live subscribers that they won't need to do anything save enter their gamer acount info into any Live Anywhere game, sucks for PC gamers who don't play on the xbox as it really isn't worth it to get the Gold otherwise.

Isn't that the truth lol. I have to save and buy a gaming laptop that satisfies the requirements of the college I'm attending this fall.

Why not?

In fact let's take it one step further.

First, Halo2 was marketed as "Xbox Exclusive" in order to sucker PC Gamers who had purchased Halo PC and fell in love with it to get an X-box so they could continue the storyline.
Second, they broke that exclusivity when they announced they would port Halo2 to Vista.

Now since M$ is not going to be able to pull this again, there is no gain in making PC gamers wait for Halo3. Why don't they just release Halo3 on both platforms at the same time?

Because that would be way to simple.

Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

And I do believe that Bungie has said they are not working on a PC version of Halo 3, it would thus be another port, hopefully released not more than a year after H3XBox

Well look PC guys you got alot of of information about Halo 2 PC in the space of a week. All you guys had to do was wait and you did that, remember, best things come to those who wait. :P

So does anybody know if we get a lobby system as well?

Personally i hope so. Every other PC game pretty much has that and that makes the game even more relaxing becuase then you can just go in and play leave when you want, and it would not show up on your record. I presume you'll have a record for matchmaking?

Hopfully.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 released for Vista in the same year?

I think not.

Pardon my incompetence, but are you are referring to out Vista raid we had the other day? If so, you are telling us we got alot of information about Halo 2 Vista after the raid, then saying that we shouldn't have raided the News Forum because we got information that we probably wouldn't have gotten if we hadn't.

Please, if you just have to make a fool of yourself, do it somewhere else.

There we go at last. Now I can start to plan my upgrades. Anybody know what Trueskill matchmaking is?

That's MS's proprietary matching system they use on the 360.

I'm surprised you guys aren't complaining about the gold membership fee. I suppose you can always go with silver, but doesn't it bother you that MS is trying to sneak in an infrastructure by which they can start charging PC gamers for the things they currently get for free?

You are going to have to let me know in the past when PC users have been able to play games cross-platform with an Xbox or Xbox 360, or any console. If you read the announcement, it is very obvious that there is no charge for PC-to-PC play and PC users get some cool new benefits with the FREE silver account.
