Mat Parker 116, you are such a retard. Your source of information is a secondary source. They have no official affiliation with Bungie, so why would you go by what a random website has to say?
The irony here is this person advertising his own site with no apparently official affiliations whatsoever, giving sparse minimum information about the game it's talking about and spouting a few lines of self-declared opinion.
Kolusion, Bungie has no duty to provide XP support. It's like wanting, I don't know, people wanting Company of Heros to have Wii compatibility, or Super Smash Brothers to have PSP compatibility. They don't because they a: work better in the medium it's developed for and/OR b: a marketing tactic.
But, even if it IS a marketing tactic by them, so what? By not producing H2V for XP or Win2000 or whatever, Microsoft will lose out on massive sales in order to move a tiny fraction of the Vista OS. Why are you so concerned about Microsoft and Bungie shooting themseslves in the foot? Are you secretly pro-Microsoft and hate to see them losing money?
In any case, there's not much point in talking about it now. Hired Gun isn't going to overhaul the game to make it backwards compatible a couple of months before the tentative release date (see, this IS on topic) since it'd so much time to the schedule (probably even a few days extra, which is no good because the fanboys WANT IT NOW!!! obviously). So go away.
However, you can reserve the right to come back and laugh maniacally if any version of H2XP EVER gets released.
