Dude, do NOT go with anything in the 9000 series for Radeon if you want good graphics. I suggest the X800 Pro. I personally have the X1600 Pro AGP...and it only cost slightly higher than what your looking at.
noscope_ is a VERY good player and runs the Radeon X800 Pro...one step below mine...can reach 200-300 FPS ingame at 800x600 res.

the 95,96,97 and 98 series all support all of the effects needed to max halo.
so does my integrated intel chipset graphics, but im not terribly thrilled with those now am i?
dont go with a 9800, they are dead (cept for pci...). and the x800's were an excellent series. some of the best ever, but they are getting old and cheapie, cooler, better cards are coming out like the 7600 gt, and the 7950gt.
but those are kinda expensive. the 1950 pro (i think thats it) is a decent sm3 card. not sure though, i dont know about ATI too well after the x800 era.
No where was i suggesting going with an 9800, read what I posted, I suggested against it lol.
x800s sucked because they lacked SM3
