I wish I could afford a PC rig as good as yours Moriarity. I'm running on a laptop right now, a P4 2.66Ghz (crappy 533Mhz FSB), 1GB DDR, ATi Mobility Radeon 9000 128MB, which is alright, but next time around I want to buy a real powerhouse desktop, but that'll have to wait until after I'm out of college and get some real work.
Back on topic though, I doubt they will make Halo 2 for PC. It takes a lot of work for them to rework the entire game just for PC. Instead of only having to run on the Xbox's Nvidia GPU, it then has to be compatible with many GPU's, including those very different from Nvidia. Getting the effects to work right takes a lot of time and effort, and even then isn't guaranteed to work (i.e. Active Camo). The game would be incredibly taxing on PC hardware. While the Xbox's hardware(except maybe the GPU) is technically inferior to that of a PC, it is more efficient. It was designed for one purpose, to play games, while your PC has to multi-task. It has to run the OS as well as other background tasks and services at the same time that it plays the game.
I just think that it would be Infeasible to spend so much time, money, and effort on a game that would be very limited in terms of the machines that it runs on.
