Will Halo2 support 512meg cards? I was wondering which to get for the game:

Diamond Monster3D - ATI Radeon X1950PRO 512MB AGP

or

VisionTek RADEON X1950 PRO XGE 256MB GDDR3 AGP Graphics Card

Will an additional 256megs of ram matter in Vista Halo2?

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

Only at higher resolutions with AA, there shouldn't be a problem getting the lower memorize unless you are planning on playing more intensive games.

But has bungie stated that the additional ram will have no affect on performance?

Of course, you'll see some performance boost, whether Bungie says you will or not. The problem is whether or not the performance boost it worth the extra money you're paying for it.

It should run it, but like I said in the other thread, asking a forum who doesn't know the minimum requirements for the game are not the best people to ask.

The difference in price for the cards is $20. one Card costs $299 the other costs $319. So price really isnt the issue.

Actually, you should forgoe both video cards now and buy a PCI-E capable motherboard, then with the remaining cash, buy a cheaper video card.

Your CPU may even fit in the newer motherboard too.

Well at that difference there really isnt any reason to get the 256 model. If the difference was much greater, I would say the difference that extra 256 makes in any game is minimal for the extra price paid.

I do not want to upgrade to a new mother board until the quad-cores come down in price. I would also have to buy new ram + a new graphic card. That is to much money at this moment. If I wait about 1 year, I will save about half of the amount I would spend today to upgrade my computer.
