If you want to be a part of one of the greatest and most active communities in the seventh column, come here. You will thank me later.

Linking groups is known as a good way to advertise and make your own group more active. How do you make it work, though? Too often, I've seen groups make alliances just for the sake of it and get no benefits whatsoever.

News? Podcasts? Machinima? Active forums? Competitions? Jaffa Cakes!? OMG!
Thee Warriors!

Best. Mod. Ever.

I suppose some kind of theme that runs. If I saw multiple people with a certain type of slogan I'd take interest.
Comedy works wonders too. The short descriptions in mine and yours are prbably both effective, if someone bothers to read the things in the first place.
If I see ALL CAPS or misleading links then I won't join the group.
Alliances? They might do a bit, but no, not much.

Change up your signature. I have used about a dozen sayings in my sig to publisize my group.

I don't think he's talking about sig links... But I see no point in alliances. I think a lot of "join me so I can have 100 members" groups do the alliances for cross-membership, but it seems shallow and meaningless. I truly don't know of any major benefits of alliances.

I do believe they said 1061. You know, the most ultimate page in the history of ultimate pages.

I can tell you what you're doing wrong. You're wearing pants.

I have to say the funniest membership trick was the good old /join.aspx thing.

Good times.

I think alliances can help. I have been in some that were helpful for both groups. There are a lot of groups in Bungie that I consider allies to my group.

How to make it work:

1. Both groups need an allies thread or article that lists the other group.

2. Members should encourage each other to join both groups.

3. Group leaders can help each other out.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Usually the group's name speaks for itself so it doesn't matter how unique or cool the sig looks. You can't go wrong with making it simple.
