"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

The best thing about working on a website is the speed at which we can iterate on things. Don't worry... we're just getting started.

But you're not getting in-line signatures again, so stop asking. The debate is closed.

Well, I suggest posting ideas for improvement. The site is going to be like this for a while, and while we'll iterate on it and add new features, the look and feel is unlikely to change.

It'll probably get better once the groups are up and running again. As for right now, each time I come back to the site, I hate it more.

Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

The look and feel are kinda what I have issue with. I just don't like it. The only improvements I've ever really wanted were group related(PM all members and a way to tell if there are new posts in a group without actually having to go into each group), so I guess we'll know soonish whether or not I'll have a reason to quit my -blam!-in.

I'm not trying to sound like I think that a bad job was done on the site, I just think what we had was overall just a little better and would have been much better with some improvements added. It's better to take the dog you have to the vet, rather than shoot it and go buy a puppy IMO.

Site looks GRRRR-Reat!

Plenty of bugs and some getting used to, but awesome nonetheless.

I like these two things I made better than the current signature place.

Sig. 1
Sig. 2

Who here likes this idea for the signature?

How'd you make that?

Signatures are removed from the bottom of posts. Why? They were fairly nice, and a standard forum has them. I never had any trouble with them. To view them now I must place my cursor over a persons name.

Because the point of the forum is the body of posts. Signatures have been getting more elaborate, plus it is difficult to seperate the post from the sig.

I honestly didn't think it was difficult to realize which part was the signature and which was the post.

Using that logic, removing Avatars would help because the "point of the forum is the body of posts". Why does hiding sigantures differ from hiding avatars? At least signatures could serve a purpose. Avatars are not productive.

So, moving the signatures to be hidden yet easily viewed is an obvious choice - if you want to see a signature, then move your mouse.
When I move my mouse to view a signature, it covers a lot of the post. I am unable to read a post at all when trying to view a "signature".

You know how when a group gets spammed, the page gets all wide? That's kinda what the forums look like now... too wide.

l hate the new hawtness. l think it sucks, and miss the old Bungie.

  • 03.21.2007 4:27 PM PDT

Sorry to hear that..............

I Remember the old site.. we were more like a small but cool community. Now with all the people posting here because chapters down, were like tokyo at rush hour. Its hard to have mature discussion on the septagon now. Though i think the new hawtness is still amazing.

The septagon........R.I.P.

I can't even begin to describe how cool the site is. The Stats and Profiles pages are improved by 1000%, it's much more detailed and customizable than last time. The overall site is so damn slick! Bungie, once again you amaze me with the work and devotion you put into making our lives easier and more exciting.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

After a day to get used to the site, I'd like to suggest a color other than white for Member Text. A bit too harsh on the eyes.

  • 03.21.2007 8:27 PM PDT

I miss the mark of shame on my shoulder. :(

Just wanted to say I love the new look. I also enjoyed the toal kills stats and such. The new viewer is sweet too. Excellent job and I can't wait to see my Halo 3 stats and games on here! :) Bring it on!

Also things like seeing hometowns and gamertags and the like in profiles is cool. I also love that the sig and all is off to the side. Very clean and uncluttered, and you can really tell more easily what is messags and what is sig. Too often they blurred together. Everything just looks cleaner and slicker. I always thought the old site looked sort of amateurish for a company that prides itself on technology and awesome design and graphics and style in the games. Great job.

And it looks great and runs great in Safari too, which is awesome.

The initial uncached page weight is larger - but after you hit a page a few times, things are cached on your browser, and the site is significantly smaller in size, byte-wise. One thing worth noting is that there is a higher amount of client-side script running, so if you have a really slow computer or are barely meeting minimum requirements (say, you're trying to run windows xp with 256 megs of ram)... you might find it slower.

The vast majority of people will find it way faster once their browsers and proxies cache everything.

The site looks a lot better - of course it's loading times have taken a turn for the worse......

*Expletive*! That's why my typing appears so slow in Firefox.......I think?

The new website is uber sexy. I love the profile backgrounds you guys put on. Is it just me or is Cortana insanely hot now? If she wasn't a fictional computer AI I would be all over that. But we want sigs, just fix that up.

Achronos-
You're not getting in-line signatures again, so stop asking. The debate is closed.

I think that putting it under 'More Posts by This User' would be great. It doesn't add extra space and it still allows people to advertise for their groups or whatever without having to use actual posts for it. I think you should consider some ideas like this that people are having. If you told people the exact reason for signatures being removed, maybe they could brainstorm ideas that could make it better for everyone.

I didn't really like the site at first, but that's just cause I hate getting used to new things.. but now I'm over it.

Site is great, the colour scheme is great, I wasn't sure about the sigs at first, but there in a good spot now; people will pay more attention to the post now. The site is very easy to navigate too. Also the profile section is brilliant, I love the customization of the background. I like the bits on the stats section aswell, "Implement Of Destruction" is very funny. All parts of the site look very up to date & high tech.. any way to get a windows theme like it ;)

So, on the over all, to the team that made it happen, you've done a great job & I can't wait to see what the stats section for Halo 3 will be like.

P.s: Really loving the colours, fresh new look all the way :D
