Bob DOLE!!

Adding shots hit/fired and accuracy back to the stats screen would be my only request. Otherwise I'm loving the new site, great work!

Everytime I reply, create a new topic, quote, or refresh a page, it seems to take forever to load. Longer than the Hawtness 1.0. I think it might have something to do with our Xbox Live Friends and messages...but that's me.

Sorry if this question has been asked or answered, but is Bungie working on getting the site to work for Firefox 2.0? Because I have to use IE to go on Bungie now.

You're in the Septagon. The forum was just renamed. Nothing about it (even the old posts) has changed except the name.

I think you're being a little bit overly dramatic.

I kind of miss the septagon... those of us who posted their frequently were kinda like family

I used to post in The Septagon a lot... I miss it. Though, I could make a group for The Septagon Regulars. No wait, I can't. Groups are down. *dies*

It works just fine with it now. There is a general bug affecting all browsers related to Windows Live ID. The workaround it is to sign in at login.live.com, sign out, then sign in here. That works for most people.

Aye, seems to be cool so far, a few things though, I'm not a fan of our orange text and when replying and such, as I am now, these giant white text boxes seem to sloppy to me.

Otherwise, thank you for everything the webteam has done with this place, it is amazing and much needed.

I think ninjas deserve a color closer to blood red. They are silent and deadly. Orange just isn't very intimidating.

That's for sure, makes me think I'm being threated by an Orange and a bannana(Though I haven't been warned or anyof that yet.)

The first couple of hours back, it was very laggy. It might've been my computer, but every other site I visited ran without any sluggishness. But now that it's going smooth, it's fantastic.

I don't, however, like where the sigs are.

i sorta have a feel of this design from another site i used to visit, and i love it, keep up the great work

  • 03.22.2007 8:44 PM PDT

If I were perfect then this would be easy.

Yay. New design. For pages on this site other than the forums, excellent job! But the forums, oye. The post time makes things a bit hard to read, even with the thin lines separating posts. The signatures, although rather innovative, are annoying, and now serve only to give more info about a poster as the reader so chooses. What is the point of a signature if not to, in a way, sign your post? Of course, there is also the fact that the signature has been used to do much more than that which I can see being useful if hidden, however, for those who provide informative links in their signatures, it requires a reader to, first, know who of many posters would have such useful information, and then hovering over their avatar. I really like how the signatures are handled from being hidden to how they are overlayed over the user info that is displayed but it's just not supporting the whole concept of the signature.

Oh but the rest of the site... I was wondering how long the old site would last, as cool looking as it was. But I welcome the new site with open arms! I love it!

I like the design: Much better than the last one. However, I see a few problems: First, some of forum titles are kind of messed up (continue to a different line with no background, etc.), so there are minor glitches. Also, when I type (Like this post), the text really lags behind my actual typing. I don't know if its just firefox or if it is the new site.

Fight hard, break bones >{o

i hate it. even though it still beats every other site hands down, i just can't take it. it looks too similar to every other site and the old one was just soo awesome! its extremely hard to find anything now, but that could just be because i was so used to the old format.

there are definitely some cool features. i dont see why we couldn't have custom avatars and sigs now though. especially with the new sig display. if some one had anything inapropriate, it wouldn't matter. you dont have to check anyone's sig and i know for a fact, im not checking any sigs until groups are back up and then only people who make intelligent posts (and those people usually dont have anything inapropriate in their sigs)

if we had a vote between this site or the old one, i'd pick the old one. just do away with all the Halo 2 stuff and bring in Halo 3 stats and whatnot. hopefully groups will rock or at least be as good. if not i doubt i'll be around much. hopefully this site will have some way of working with Halo 3, perhaps a way to view videos saved with the new Save Game feature.

okay, well i gotta give props to the stat page. that is actually really nice.

You are probably just too use to the old format. I don't see why you hate it though I mean I agree that now it's kinda of chalanging to find stuff, but I still love the hawtness though.

I find it much, much easier to navigate now. The old one was very indirect. We can't have custom avatars because with 3 million+ members, controlling the masses of inappropriate pictures people would put there would be a task beyond any scope short of 50 moderators looking as lists of thumbnails at the latest updated avatars. Chaos.
I'm not sure about the signatures. In one respect, I love how it is not so crowded any more and on another I'm thinking about member counts, which I have to admit is a sad selfish thing.
Then there's the technical side of things. It's still distinctively Bungie and separated from the cohort. Much more streamlined, professional and when looking at the old one, it seems a bit OTT and blaring. This seems sharp and professional.
Some people (Not you Sick) seem to be jumping to conclusions to early, seeming to realise things that can only come several months down the line. We should hold our tongues until we know for sure. Don't get me wrong, everyone has an opinion and in the end everyone and nobody is correct, but to my degree I see it this way.

I like these two things I made better than the current signature place.

Sig. 1
Sig. 2

Who here likes this idea for the signature?

How'd you make that?

I don't like it at all. The graphics are far to harsh. The avatars just don't blend or tone in. It looks like something mashed together from to many ideas and poorly thought out plans.

In the end the main problem is that it's starting to look like to many other sites. Menus, forums etc all loook like something borrowed from others and Bungie.net has definately lost it's individuality in site layout and look.

He probably didn't want the orange text. Now I feel superior over the mods 'cause I got the white text.

And yes, I will bann Shiska with my super white text if he doesn't tell me every detail about Halo 3... and I want a hat that says Bungie on it.

the site is definitely good, but the old one was just better. perhaps i will grow to like this one, but the only chance for that is if they do a lot of work on it. how it is currently=bad. how it could be with this format=???

Halo 3 is the only way for this site to work. i can see how many problems could have came about if they had stuck with the old format, but that doesn't make ditching it right. i would have gladly bookmarked 2 sites. and a mod feeling like i do, thats just awesome. hopefully with enough response they will fix this site. i know Achronos put a lot of work into it and he did a great job, but the fact still remains that this site could be better. thats all, just some constructive criticism.

and about avatars; look at every other site. they let you have a custom avatar and look! no problems! i know that bungie seems to get the least intelligent people from the web, but with the new ban history, why cant we give it a try? even if we dont get avatars, there is no reason to not have custom sigs. the only purpose they had before was advertising and now they dont do a thing! i like how they work now, dont get me wrong, they definitely make reading forums much easier and since the whole point of a forum is to read the posts, i can see why they did what they did. but still, why have sigs at all? at least you could change the name to "info" or something. becuase they really cant serve as sigs.

okay, so i sound like a broken record. im not helping. whatever. i still hate the site. now, lets see if bungie can change my mind. i love Halo too much to let a simple website ruin my anticipation for Halo 3, but i just hope bungie can change my mind about this site, as i'll be coming back regularly enough for them to do so.
