Hmm, its kind of a double edged coin for me. I like not having to look at people's sigs. Sometimes, they were nothing but page breaking eyesores. But, now I'm going to have to actually try to check them to see if there is bad content, which could be annoying. But, I'll get used to it. I'm liking it so far.

About the post sigs, I'll only do something about it if its distracting, or if it becomes a real problem. If you all use your heads, and can avoid taking it too far, I won't mind. Blocks of text and ads will warrant some attention, but a simple sentence of two should be okay.

Hehe...yeah you would be the guy to waste hours of life just looking through sigs to find something worth geting upset over and warned/banned.

...and you're the guy who goes out of his way to talk trash to that guy.
Nice work, idiot.

With the new place for sigs, I'd rather have no sigs at all, but instead more information about that user. For instance; The Bungie games he has played, perhaps even a little (game) biography. When I move my mouse over someone's avatar, I expect to see all that rather than a cut off signature. In any case, I do like where it has been placed.

Good point. I would like to have more info, and more room for putting info in my profile. I don't care if we have sigs anymore.

I like it, the post does seem to be missing something (akin to an amputee), but I´m sure after a couple of weeks I won´t notice it. And I love the new colour for mod haha.

This has absolutely DESTROYED the point of sigs.
Sigs were used as a means of advertising, whether it be groups, useful links, clans, or just plain spam.
Now we will start to see it creep into post bodies instead, and I, personally, think they should be put back, and FAST.

Why not just put the sig. underneath the "More Posts From This User?"

It wouldn't be in the main posts, but still noticable if you looked. The text would have to be smaller, obviously.

Your concerns have already been discussed at length.
This is why it's useful to read an entire thread before posting.

I voted yes, only because I have nothing against where they were or where they are now. I'm completely indifferent. But in a way I think it's better because I'm not forced to look at ASCII guns and all sorts of subsequential shenaniganry as that. So no, I'm not completely indifferent.

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

I like it except that it cuts off the bottom slightly of the longer signatures. They were obscene in the old new hotness.

Yea.. I contradicted myself. But to make it simpler. I formed an opinion about sig placement.

Suffice to say that sometime, a moderator is going to end this account permenantly.

I think that each user should have the option to change where they can see other's signatures.

One option can be the way it is now; where you have to hover your mouse over a user's avatar to see the sig.

Or the way it was; where the sig would automatically show at the end of each post.

I don't mind the way it is now though, I just think it'd be another cool, customizable option.

BobBQ was the first I saw the mention this idea.. Even though I'm sure many of us had already thought of it. Yes, I would like that feature.

I will admit that it places more importance on the content of one's post.

However (and part of me is reluctant to mention it, but I am certain that members will start even if I didn't) I suspect that people will start manually "sigging" their posts because they feel that they have "lost billboard space".

I don't know. If it becomes prevalent, I could probably then test out the new ninja-warning feature.
I already implimented that long ago... But I stopped because I knew it would end up in quote pyramid retardedness... Then I decided to change the sig box (which to me is more like a contact card rather than a signature) and did that for a while... I'm really -blam!- about format.

I understand the cleanliness factor, though with the new font, the older signature really looked nice. Though not as clean as the Contact Card, it looked pretty tidy with the new text format. But no matter, that's just how it is. /\ /\

I like it, it's a much cleaner look. It puts more emphasis on post content, and distracts less when you are trying to read a conversation from start to finish without being interrupted by inane ads and whatnot. Now, if I see someone make an interesting post, I can hover over their avatar and see what their interests are. If someone's an idiot, I can ignore them entirely. The only wish I have for the sigs is that they had a bar that displayed a Gamercard, maybe across the bottom of the box, but that's really a luxury that is totally nonessential.

Also, I run across sigs all the time that are asking for people to be flamed and whatnot, from religiously themed ideals, to "MLG is bettar", to the retarded brain eaters and horrible ASCII "art". Now, it's gone. And there should be much rejoicing. when I get the energy, my signature is going to be altered to contain links to my crappy comics, Jumpers related stuff, and a couple other sites I find interesting, and if people want to check it, cool. If not, I could care less. I like that I can make my "signature" more informative without being an eyesore to the main forums now.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

I like the new sig system, as it keeps everything short and to the point.

Even though I'm sure many of us had already thought of it. Yes, I would like that feature.

Cause we all need to see your sig Zag :o

You know it. Where would I be without being able to direct you to Pimps at Sea? D:

;) If Achronos decides that feature is needed, (or I suppose, wanted badly enough) he'll add it. So far, that man has not failed me, personally anyway, on delivering some really great things to Bungie.net.

If you don't already know, the signature that was once at the bottom of everyone's post is now only visible if you roll over the user's icon. I've seen some people who don't like this at all, but I think that it is a perfect spot to put the signature.

Especially since there was this trend where people would try to make their signature more "attentiony" by adding bars and characters that were complete eyesores.

I was wondering if there's actually a widespread contempt for the signature place so please vote in the poll.
It's better only because you don't get the annoying sigs that cause your computer to lag like hell.

Personally, I find signatures annoying and I like that I no longer have to look at them. It also helps that the general population is no longer forced to see the idiotic or offensive content that many people put in their signatures.

I'd prefer it to be out in the open so it's much easier for us to notice and ban those people. Right now, we have to actively look through sigs to find bad stuff.

I really don't think of it as a signature, but more as a space to tell other users about yourself, or show off some of your interests. I think its actually kinda nice because I don't have to look at any more copy and pasted shotguns or battle rifle ASCII junk.

  • 03.21.2007 1:50 AM PDT

I like it. It just seems cooler to put the cursor over the avatar to see that person's signature.
