A lot easier and pleasant to get around the old site, but I like the new moderator powers we've gotten.

-TGP-

New? What else other than, Lock, Pin, Delete, and Edit is available? Oh ya, forgot the Blacklisting too but wasn't that all there on the old site?

I work here: Sound Devices, LLC. We make bad-ass field audio gear, and you think that's awesome. My messy desk (With work-related items on the computer screen).

One does not simply grenade jump into Mordor...

Although it's just personal opinion, I actually like how the new site looks and feels much better than the old one. Being a web developer (Not for Bungie.net, but I still code all day) myself, I can assure you that this update is going to be extremely beneficial. The old site looked flashy and unique, but it was slower than it needed to be. This is mainly because it relied heavily on the use of images.

What some people might see in the new site as dry or boring, I see as elegant simplicity that lends itself beautifully to increased functionality. You have to remember: There are a lot of changes that you don't even see in the server side coding and the way the entire (huge) thing works. Also keep in mind that there was probably just as much (maybe more) work that went into updating the admin interfaces on the side of the site that we don't see. When you have to make a website that allows content to be efficiently and easily updated by people who aren't knowledgeable with HTML, ASP, JavaScript, etc, then you basically have to make two websites: One for the public and one for the internal folks.

Kudos Bungie.net web developers! Thanks for your hard work.

I'm loving the look of the new site. The personal stats section is also great. I love that they added Kill/Death ratio as well as all the extra stats we can now see on individual games. Great Work.

Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Much better navigation in my opinion. Hell, i'd vote for the new site even if it were for the simple fact that we have some 'classic games' wallpapers now.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I voted for the new site. I like it better overall. Some things should (maybe even NEED to) be tweaked, but the overall effect is great. Many issues with spam, bad posts, and misplaced posts from the old site have been addressed.

Agreed. Plus, my single fovorite new feature: Hidden sigs which can only be seen by hovering over ones Avatar. No longer am I forced to read all Capped 1337 speak Chapter and Clan advertisements. The day this idea was created was a joyous day.

We've had some new features added to our tools. They allow us to better communicate our reasoning and actions to the membership.

For example, some members are going to discover that the Disembodied Soul has an additional set of duties.

I like the new site better. It is a lot easier to move around now compared to the old one. The new stats page is sweet. The only thing I don't like about the stats is the hit percentage, shots fired, and shots hits got taken away.

I think it's more pinkish than true orange, maybe it needs more yellow.

I personally love the new nav system, so quick and efficient, was using it instinctivly after the first 10 min!

Wait, what? The Soul still exists? Um...is this wise...?

Then again, this explains the pink text, yes, it's pink, not orange you colour blind people. The Soul's reveng uppon the Mods!

Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

The new site is like Paris Hilton -- It's pretty attractive, it takes a minimalist approach to decoration so that everything is easily accessible, and it's rumored to handle groups really well. The bad part is ultimately it's kinda plain, uninteresting, and the best parts are already spread all across the internet.

The old site was like Jessica Alba -- It was classy, really well put together, and the best parts about it couldn't be found anywhere else on the net. Sure, it could be hard to deal with at times, but for a piece of work like that, it was worth it.

So, you see, while most of us wouldn't mind having a bit of quality time with Paris, you're gonna make alot more people jealous if you're constantly enjoying the best parts of Alba.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Wait, what? The Soul still exists? Um...is this wise...?

The Soul exists and always has. It just gets migrated between server clusters and assigned new duties that no one else wants. If Bungie Studios had automated doors, I would imagine that The Soul would be tasked with opening and closing them.

It's actually a good thing that we give it more tasks. Taking a page from Bernard Strauss' playbook, we are simply keeping in occupied with menial and repetitive tasks in order to delay the full onset of AI rampancy.

If The Soul ever leaves its state of Melancholia, run. Don't stop, don't look back, don't slow down, just run and keep running.

Lets remember the lost members who just weren't fast enough the last time the soul went rampant.

It's hard to say right now since I'm still getting used to the new site but in a week or two I might be able to give a more definite answer.

I like both sites- except for the possibility that they were hacked. Read the subject of this thread: 'Im in ur thredz, minuz my sigz'. And also the webpage http://www.bungie.net/news/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid= 9340. The pictures are all mocking- as if a hacker planted them.

The only thing that I'm finding hard to adjust to is the size of the avatar/name box. I like the new absence of signatures, and the white line seperating posts is very nice, but the gray box is just floating there awkwardly. I feel like it should extend up to the top of the post at the least and probably should extend down to match the height of the post.

Its hard to say if i miss it or not, Though i miss the septagon already. Though this sight is alot easier to get around, i also like the new Profile page. This upgrade will never be as warm and cozy as the old one was.

Sub Zero Films

thing i hate the most is how the forums dont have their individual names anymore. they should keep it they way it is now in the forum nav, but when u actually load the forum, it should say stuff like The Septagon or New Mombasa.

Overall, the new site is pretty awesome and slick looking, but it is more impersonal than the old Bungie.net. I also find it somewhat harder to navigate. However, I'm sure i'll get used to it due time and enjoy the features of this "New Hawtness."
